It’s no secret that Black Mirror can make for some pretty dark and unsettling viewing at times, and now, almost 3 years after the 5th series, a 6th has been announced.

Season 5 of Black Mirror gave us 3 episodes, starring the likes of Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and surprisingly, Topher Grace.

If you’re wondering why season 5 only consists of 3 episodes, blame “Bandersnatch,” Black Mirror‘s choose-your-own-adventure style episode that dropped a few months earlier.

The exact storylines and themes haven’t been shared yet, understandably, but Variety has announced that this latest season will have more episodes than the last.

As soon as the news dropped, fans of the series took to social media to share their excitement…

One Twitter fan wrote: “I’m happy shows like this take their time to develop amazing storylines and ideas and they don’t just pump out a new season every year for the fans. I will happily wait years for the work they put into these shows.”

However, another wrote: “We are living Black Mirror season 6. What could they possibly write about that isn’t happening in the real world?”
