Now, Gwen Stefani is undoubtedly an icon.

As well as being in the band No Doubt, she has written countless hit songs, including ‘Rich Girl’, ‘Don’t Speak’, and ‘Luxurious’, just to name a few.

Born in California in 1969, she was destined for stardom from a young age…

Her parents were huge music fans, so much so that they even took her middle name from the Four Tops song ‘Walk Away Renée’!

She got her first big break while working with No Doubt.

She was first invited to join the band by her brother Eric, who encouraged her to sing.

The release of the band’s third album called Tragic Kingdom in 1995 was where Stefani’s success really began to kick off.

The album sold over sixteen million copies worldwide, and was even nominated for a Grammy.

In the same year, Stefani also began her relationship with Rossdale.

Rossdale is best known as the frontman for the band Bush.

By the year 2000, No Doubt released another album titled Return to Saturn.

Much of the album’s content revolved around Stefani’s indecision around settling down…

However, just 2 years later, Stefani and Rossdale married.

They went on to have 3 children together before divorcing in 2015.

By 2004, Stefani had branched out to begin her solo career.

It began with the release of her debut album, titled Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

This album helped to really establish the star as a household name.

Hits from the record include ‘Rich Girl’ and ‘Hollaback Girl’.

But it was her 2006 album that solidified her position as a hit-making solo star.

The Sweet Escape produced hits such as ‘4 in the Morning’ and ‘Wind It Up.

However, by 2011, the star was looking for something new.

She said she had no further plans for works as a solo artist.

And by 2014, Stefani was announced as a new host for The Voice.

Unfortunately, the singer had little success as a coach.

However, she did win the show in 2020 with one of her acts.

Carter Rubin came out as champion of the show’s nineteenth series.

However, recently, fans don’t seem to recognize the singer…

In one of her latest interviews, fans spent more time commenting on the star’s appearance than what she actually had to say for herself!

The star wore a black, fringed, cut-out pantsuit and teamed it with a cobalt blue fishnet bolero which led one user to write: “Unrecognizable.”

A second added: “I am so sorry to say this, but I did not recognize her. Please Gwen, STOP!”

Criticism of her appearance provoked wider debate about the media’s obsession with female celebrities’ looks as they age, which is something that Stefani is no stranger to.

And this wasn’t the first time the fifty-three-year-old singer faced criticism…

She felt victimized by this ageism in the past, receiving a lot of hate from people who said she was “too old” for certain performances.

And now, her fans are pleading before her and have asked her to stop playing with her appearance.

Stefani also graced her very youthful appearance in a promotional video for the upcoming series of The Voice.

And, boy, does the star look unrecognizable on another level this time!

The clip was posted to the Instagram page for NBC’s The Voice alongside the caption: “What’s your go-to song for a chair turn?”

While many fans answered the question in the comments section, others rushed to slam Gwen’s changing appearance.

“Wish she would stop having work done on her face… she’s starting to look like Madonna,” wrote one user.

“So love Gwen but stop messing with your eyes. They are disappearing,” another added.

While others scrutinized the star for getting botox done.

“Ohhh no she got botox and you can clearly tell. You can barely see her eyes now,” a third said.

However, Stefani’s appearance seems to be the least of her worries…

Because she’s too preoccupied with her new beau, country singer Blake Shelton!

Shelton, who is Stefani’s co-star on The Voice, was previously in another high-profile relationship with fellow country musician Miranda Lambert.

The pair divorced in 2015 after 4 years of marriage.

However, Shelton and Stefani became involved with one another in 2015.

They married 6 years later after announcing their engagement in 2020.

Since beginning their relationship, the pair have looked almost sickeningly happy…

“God just put us together. It was one of those miracle situations where I didn’t see it coming,” Stefani told Drew Barrymore during a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.

She opened up about what she thought life was going to be like before she met the country star…

“I was like, ‘I’m gonna wake up every day, I’m gonna have a coffee, I’m gonna take care of my kids and then I’m gonna go to bed.’

“‘Like, I’m never gonna kiss anyone.’ … like, I thought my life was over. And then Blake Shelton’s like, ‘Hey. I’m Blake Shelton.’

“Finding a best friend, someone that is, like, on the same plane when it comes to morals, or just the way you look at life, that’s the dream,” she said, as per Entertainment Tonight.

“Having someone that, we think the same about things yet we’re so different, like, he’s watching football and doing his stuff that he does and I’m, like, putting makeup on.

“We are so different yet we’re so the same on so many levels.

“He’s brought so much joy. He’s so talented. I know people just wait around to laugh and watch him on TV, so I feel sorry for everybody [that] he’s gonna be gone,” she said.

Shelton announced that he was leaving the show after season twenty-three.

She said: “I have to figure out who this new Blake’s gonna be. I’m just so proud of him.”

Since then, Shelton was featured on PEOPLE’s latest cover story, where he spoke about reprioritizing his life for Stefani and his 3 stepsons.

“We go way over the top. It’s embarrassing how much we spend on seeds,” Shelton told the media outlet.

“Besides music, gardening has been our biggest bonding activity.”

Shelton and Stefani have reportedly grown multiple gardens’ worth of zinnias and sunflowers.

He continued: “Gwen and I have done so much traveling and touring and work the first half of our lives that now we’re like, ‘Hey, I’m good to put my sweatpants on at 6 p.m. and watch Ozark eight times.’

“That’s our life now, and we love it.”
