A blind dog was given his own guide dog after losing his eyes to glaucoma, and the adorable new friendship has given him a new lease of life…

But who’d have thought that they could be assigned to help other dogs?

But since gaining his very own guide dog, he has been living his best life. Amazing. The pictures are just too cute to handle.

These lovable and loyal companions make the perfect household pets, and it also helps that they’re so damn cute.

Whether they’re causing mischief, giving us those puppy eyes when they want a treat, or taking up the entire sofa, many of us couldn’t live without our 4-legged companions.

And dogs are the most popular animals used in therapy thanks to their calming and gentle natures.

Those who have suffered neglect, abuse, or trauma caused by illness usually become withdrawn and often struggle with normal daily activities.

And one dog was recently given a second chance at life after getting his very own guide dog.

After getting his eyes removed, he needed help to re-adjust to the world around him.

After he lost both eyes to glaucoma last February.

Allowing him to adapt to losing his eyesight over time before the inevitable happened and they had to remove his eyes completely.

Oko, the 8-week-old pup has since become essential in helping Tao get around.

This new lease of life has allowed Tao to take part in the same activities he could do before going blind. Like running!

He can still enjoy all the things dogs love to do, and his other senses have heightened massively.

“This means the world to me – as you all know Tao is totally blind (no eyes). He is such an amazing dog and has adjusted so well to his new life but he didn’t quite have the confidence to run, let alone run ahead. He was comfortable following me.”

Melanie said Tao’s situation went downhill very fast last year.

“Glaucoma is the build-up of fluid in the eye – it’s got nowhere to drain away. If you can imagine a migraine and times it by a hundred – that was the pain he was in.”

But it was clear that his eyesight was deteriorating fast.

Enabling owners to get treatment for their dogs early enough to prevent it from getting to Tao’s stage.

We can’t wait to see what else they get up to together.

Way too cute!
