Happy Pride Month everyone! And to all the bigots out there, happy "The Gays Are Stealing Our Rights" month! Every June, Americans celebrate LGBT pride by marching, being great LGBT allies, and just generally letting their rainbow flags fly. It’s a month to celebrate being the person that you were born to be, as well as raising awareness for LGBT causes out there.

The month of June was chosen because it signifies the end of the Stonewall riots in 1969. People around the country will be marching for their rights and for the rights of others. I know I’ll be out there marching this weekend!

But some people, like one Alabama mayor, Mark Chambers, think that LGBT persons shouldn’t share the same rights as straight people; he even called for them to be killed.

So that’s why we march.

Not only to advocate for equal rights, but also to celebrate the lives of those lost to hatred and bigotry.

But a select few Bostonians have another idea.

And it seems like the city of Boston is willing to go with their crazy idea.

Recently, news spread across social media that some folks in Boston were planning a Straight Pride Parade.

Why? Just why, Boston? Why do you have to be like this?

The parade has been organized by the "Super Happy Fun America" group.

Which sounds like a troll, but it seems like they very much intend to go through with these plans.

The group is led by President, John Hugo, who was a Republican candidate for Massachusetts' 5th Congressional District in 2018.

He didn't win his election because Massachusets is traditionally a pretty liberal state.

In fact, Massachusets was the first state to legalize gay marriage back in 2004.

So it's no surprise that Hugo lost his race to Democrat, Katherine Clark.

But that didn't slow him down.

He and vice president, Mark Sahady, claim to advocate “on behalf of the straight community".

They filed a discrimination complaint against the city.

Apparently, the city of Boston originally declined the request.

But Super Happy Fun America said that they were discriminating against straight people by allowing a Pride Parade and not allowing a Straight Parade.

Because if there's one thing that straight people have to face every day, it's discrimination concerning their sexual preferences...

And it looks like the city caved.

It seems like the parade is actually happening, parade floats and all. It'll be like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade without the turkey, but with extra football.

The Straight Pride parade is now set for August 31st.

Just in case you need an occasion to wear your cargo shorts and Target button-downs one more time this summer!

Mark Sahady left this message on Facebook.

"This is our chance to have a patriotic parade in Boston as we celebrate straight pride".

Because, apparently, being queer is unpatriotic.

Although what says freedom more than, you know, being okay with who you are and being able to be that person 100%?

Now, I must emphasize, while this parade is probably going to happen, it still seems like these guys might just be trolling us all.

Why do I think it could be a troll? Well, because, if it's not, it might just be the most ridiculous thing that I've ever heard.

Especially because of some of the things that Super Happy Fun America's members have been saying.

They're pretty extreme, and, also, pretty funny.

Here's what their website has to say about... Brad Pitt.

"The Straight Community has adopted Brad Pitt as our mascot! Congratulations to Mr. Pitt for being the face of this important civil rights movement".

They are also currently trying to get the city to fly their "straight flag" at City Hall.

This is what their straight flag looks like. Thanks. I hate it.

And here's a full, freaking insane quote from John Hugo taken directly from their website.

"Straight people are an oppressed majority. We will fight for the right of straights everywhere to express pride in themselves without fear of judgement (sic) and hate. The day will come when straights will finally be included as equals among all of the other orientations".

He has to be trolling, right?

But even if he is, this is still pretty damaging. People will take his rhetoric seriously and there will most likely be a parade.

It doesn't matter whether or not Super Happy Fun America is legit.

People will take them seriously, solely because it's what they believe. And this "parade" is giving legitimacy to a group of people whose opinions are filled with hate and disgust. Whether John Hugo believes his words or not is irrelevant.

And, because of that, the internet is in full backlash mode.

It's true. This parade only stands to belittle LGBT pride. "Oh, you have a thing, well we can have that thing too. You're not special."

People are really laying into Boston.

I just need someone to stand over me while I'm cooking and tell me that I'm doing it wrong.

We couldn't agree with this tweet more.

I guess this is the straight guy's walk of shame...

Even Smash Mouth got angry!

I haven't heard from Smash Mouth since the last Shrek movie! They're finally out of hiding. ❤️

I've never seen this happen before...

But, then again, I don't go to very many Olive Gardens.

It's gonna be a sausage fest.

I can't imagine the number of times that the words "no homo" will be muttered.

We've seen Straight Pride Parades before.

Try buying a rack of baby back ribs on 4th of July weekend and you'll see exactly what straight pride is.

Maybe the best way to troll the Straight Pride Parade is to let it happen.

Think of the memes that would come out of it. It'd be great!

Keneth is a blessing to this planet.

I don't know what context this is in, but, honestly, does it even matter?

Whoever made this graphic is touched by God.

Can we get a companion piece to Queer Eye that's called The Heteros Are Upseteros? Please, Netflix?
