It has been confirmed that Brad Pitt has won joint custody of his children with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

Here's the full - and very eventful - story...

Now, Hollywood icons Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie first met on the set of Mr & Mrs. Smith in 2005...

And although Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, the pair hit it off from the get-go and it didn't take long for things to become official... and serious.

Jennifer announced her separation and divorce from Brad in 2005...

And while she cited irreconcilable differences as a reason, it was pretty obvious that Angelina was a firm reason behind the split.

Nevertheless, Brad and Angelina went on to enjoy a long relationship before tying the knot in 2014...

And as for why they waited so long to say their "I Do's"?

Brad reportedly said he wouldn't marry Angelina until "everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able."

Before and after their marriage, the couple amassed a huge brood of children...

Some through adoption and some through birth.

Although the pair both adopted their children...

Angelina adopted them first before Brad entered the picture - which led some to suspect that the relationship may have been a little more strained than it seemed.

Well, it seems as if the rumored strains were a sign of things to come...

And it's true when they say... all good things come to an end, right?

In 2016, the couple broke the world's heart by announcing their separation and divorce...

And though they remained fairly private, it's clear there was a lot of ill-feeling between the pair.

In June, Angelina shared with Vogue India that she believed her separation from Brad was the "right decision" for her family

"It was the right decision. I continue to focus on their healing. Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds."

But these lies and rumors about their children continued to spread...

Which even lead to many believing that Brad never actually wanted to be a father to such a large brood, but he went along with it because of the love he had for Angelina.

This is perhaps what resulted in the children being stuck in the middle...

But regardless of the tensions, Brad and Angelina co-parented civilly during divorce proceedings and their separation.

And in spite of some predictable dramas, the family seemed to be working through it.

Well, until very recently!

They share 3 biological children - Shiloh and twins, Vivienne and Knox.

But last month, a new revelation turned everything upside down.

Angelina invoked past domestic abuse allegations in the couple's ongoing divorce settlement.

And it was thought the kids may even have had to testify.

The actor was accused of being abusive toward his then fifteen-year-old son during a flight from France to Los Angeles in 2016...

Although investigations by child welfare officials and the FBI were closed with no charges being filed against Brad.

A source close to the actor explained Brad was understandably heartbroken by the allegations.

"There's a lot of emotion left after their marriage."

"He has taken responsibility for his actions and owned up to his past issues, he's stopped drinking."

"The marriage was very passionate and toxic at times and — like all couples — they had fights, but also shared many good times together. He has talked about his drink and drug problems during the time they were together."

But regardless of the allegations...

Things have gone Brad's way as it's just been confirmed that the actor has won joint custody of his children.

The judge, ruling in Brad's favor, "significantly modified the customary order to increase [Brad's] time with his kids," a source said to Fox News.

Angelina could appeal this, said the insider, noting that court proceedings in the case mostly have been sealed.

"Mostly all [Brad] wanted was to see his kids and that was the whole point."

"Brad has always been seeking the opportunity to have more time with his children and prioritized their well-being while the other side did everything to try and stop that."

This is a developing story and updates will be posted accordingly.
