`Breaking Bad, along with The Wire and The Sopranos, will go down in history as one of the greatest tv shows of all time.
To commemorate Breaking Bad’s legacy, a statue of the two main characters was erected in Albuquerque, but many have found problem.
Just days ago, Albuquerque welcomed a new statue.

And that statue was of Breaking Bad’s two protagonists, Walter White (or Heisenberg) and Jesse Pinkman.
The statues were gifted to the city by Breaking Bad’s creator, Vince Gilligan, who commissioned the statues back in 2019.

Gilligan explained that he wanted to give something back to the community that formed such an integral part of the show, reports UNILAD.
He added:

“It was so amazing that it just got me to thinking: What if [artist] Trevor could sculpt a life-sized version of Walter White in bronze, a medium new to him, and what if he could toss in Jesse Pinkman to boot, and then we donate to the two statues to the city of Albuquerque as a thank-you for your hospitality?”
Everything went ahead and the statues do look quite remarkable, however many have one problem with them…

Commenting on a post about the statues, one person wrote:
“I love Breaking Bad, but a monument to crime and drugs is the best image Albuquerque can come up with the represent the city?”
Another commented:
“It has only now occurred to me that the statues of the breaking bad characters, out of social context, is a statue of drug dealer/makers.”
A third tweeted:
“Uh, I get that it’s the most famous thing set in your city, but it still feels weird to put up a statue for a murderous drug dealer, fictional or not.”
Others simply found it amusing.

One person wrote:
“Imagine, a few thousand years from now, archeologists trying to figure out who these guys are and why we made statues of them. Love it.”
Another commented:
“They have brought so many together and are globally enjoyed that, it’s more about the community than the characters and their actions.”
What do you think?
