A person's wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of their life...
via: GettyYeah, it's supposed to be.
An awful lot of time, planning, and money gets thrown into a wedding...
via: GettySo, of course, tensions can run a little high.
For most, the big day has to be perfect.
via: GettyWhether it be the wedding dress (obviously) or the cake... Most people want everything at their wedding to be completely impeccable.
And, of course, they need their guests to be on their best behavior.
via: GettyThere's nothing else quite like a group of unruly friends and family to spoil someone's big day, is there?
We all have an aunt who gets a little bit too drunk at family events...
via: GettyAnd we all have an overly political cousin.
But, as it turns out, there are some family members who can't help but put a dampener on the festivities...
via: GettyBefore the wedding has even begun.
One bride-to-be has recently opened up about her own experience with disgruntled family members...
via: GettyAnd their behavior is a little eyebrow-raising, to say the least.
The woman, who has remained anonymous, took to Reddit to share her tale.
via: GettyShe explained how she and her fiancee are due to tie the knot but, after running into financial difficulties, their plans were put in doubt.
As well as her partner recently losing his job...
via: GettyHe had also broken his leg, meaning that they now have substantial medical bills to cover (this factor makes us believe that the couple could infact be American).
So, with the big day just around the corner, the bride decided to seek out some help.
via: GettyShe set up a fundraiser to help cover the cost of the wedding which, from the help of her generous friends and family, managed to raise nearly $25,000.
But the couple suddenly had different plans for the money.
via: GettyThe bride-to-be revealed in her post that she and her fiancee have already spent most of the money on his medical expenses, new furniture, and therapy after being "emotionally damaged."
And they have decided to fully postpone the wedding.
via: Getty"After having a thoughtful conversation with my mother and fiancé, I decided to cancel my wedding and reschedule it once we regain financial stability," she wrote.
Well, this has not sat well with the rest of her family.
via: GettyShe claims that most of the family members who donated are now demanding their money back.
via: Getty"I’m now being attacked by my own family and friends for refusing to give back their money since I did not use it as promised."
She cannot believe the audacity of it all.
via: GettyThe upset bride-to-be wrote: "I understand their anger because most of them had to change their plans to attend my wedding but I am still upset at them for not understanding what I've been going through." She then revealed that she had reopened their fund and politely asked for more donations for the revised date.
But the woman claims that she has started to receive hate messages as a result.
via: Getty"I am now being bombarded by calls and hate messages from my own family and friends and don’t know what to do."
She pleaded with other Reddit users for advice...
via: GettyHowever, most of them weren't too sympathetic.
Support came in short supply.
via: GettyOne user commented, "They gave you money towards your wedding, you did not use that money towards your wedding", while another noted, "My jaw literally dropped when she suggested that buying new furniture was 'for their health."
And users were shocked by the second fundraising account.
via: Getty"Also literally saying that they will open back up for MORE free money because they ' LOST' most of it? Oh, honey, no... You did not 'lose' it; you 'spent' it."
What do you think?
