Now, it's safe to say that Netflix reigns supreme as the world's most popular streaming service.

And, since it was founded in 1997, it has experienced nothing but unbelievable volumes of success.

In 2013, the streaming giant began curating its own original content.

Netflix began launching its own content 6 years ago, starting with political drama, House of Cards, which has gone on to have 6 seasons.

It has since rolled out many of our favorite shows...

Closely following House of Cards was Orange Is The New Black, which is now one of the platform’s biggest success stories.

It was certainly responsible for an influx of new subscribers...

Many people signed up to the platform to watch the hit show, which follows Piper Chapman as she is sentenced to spend time in a minimum-security women's prison in Connecticut for transporting drug money ten years earlier.

And, in more recent years, Netflix has continued to churn out major hits.

Shows such as The CrownGlow, and Grace and Frankie have all attracted huge viewership.

And, of course, we can't forget Stranger Things.

The sci-fi show debuted in 2016 and has since become one of the most popular Netflix originals on the platform.

The streaming giant truly has dominated the market...

Out of all the streaming services, there's no doubt Netflix is top of the game - with over sixty million paying subscribers in the U.S. alone.

And it seems their latest offering may be their best yet.

People are going absolutely wild for Bridgerton.

Now, the regency-era series, created by Chris Van Dusen, follows the 8 siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family as they attempt to find love.

The series is based on best-selling author Julia Quinn's 8-novel Bridgerton collection, and it's well and truly swept viewers off their feet.

And, of course, the scandal-filled drama.

The show has some pretty impressive stats to boast, too.

It's projected that about sixty-three million households will have viewed the show in the month since its Christmas Day release - making it one of the streaming giant's biggest original series launches ever.

And that's not all...

The show also bagged the top spot on Netflix’s top ten ranking in a whopping seventy-six countries.

The show's creator has even said he would "love" it to run for 8 seasons...

Speaking to Collider, he said: "I feel like the first season was primarily about Daphne and her love story with Simon. "But, this being a family of eight children and there being 8 books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories for all the Bridgerton siblings. For each character, for sure."

He was asked if that means he would like 8 seasons...

To which he replied: "I would love that. In success, I would love that."

There's no doubt the show has been an absolute smash hit...

But it seems fans have noticed something about the series' stars ...
