There have been lots of unbelievable claims coming from Britney Spears this week as she moves through the court system challenging her conservatorship. For the last thirteen years, her dad, Jamie Spears, has had control over her entire life and finances.

In an extensive speech to a court in Los Angeles, Wednesday marked the first time the pop star has spoken publicly about the full extent of the treatment she says she has faced.

She claimed her father, who is one of her main conservators, and the entire family “did nothing” as she was forced to take strong prescription medications and strip naked against her will over the past few years.

The conservatorship began in 2008, following Britney’s very public mental breakdown. The star was hospitalized over rising concerns for her mental health and the infamous breakdown included her shaving her head and smashing a photographer’s car with an umbrella.

Britney has been trying to have him removed and replaced by an independent conservator separate from her family however, during her speech, which was delivered via video call, she asked for the entire order to be lifted.

Britney claimed her father has gone too far with how much control the conservatorship has over her life. She also explained how in 2018, she was forced to move into a house in Beverly Hills for an unofficial rehab stint.

During that time, she was surrounded by nurses and security guards and claimed she had no bedroom door. The thirty-nine-year-old also claimed she was forced to strip naked in front of strangers every day.

“They all lived in the house with me, the nurses, the 24/7 security. There was one chef that came there and cooked for me daily, during the weekdays. They watched me change, every day, naked. Morning, noon, and night. My body: I had no privacy, door for my room…”

The star also claimed she was forced to work 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, and faced punishment if she refused to do something. “If I didn’t do any of my meetings… I wouldn’t be able to see my kids or my boyfriend. I never had a say in my schedule.”

The “Oops… I Did It Again” singer also revealed she believes her father “loves” the amount of control he has over her: “I cried on the phone for an hour and he loved every minute of it, the control he had over someone as powerful as me… 1000 percent he loved it.”

The signer also said her father and manager “should be in jail” for the grueling work they’ve asked her to do against her will, including going on back-to-back tours.

In the past, she has told fans that she was happy in her conservatorship, uploading Instagram updates to her worried fans, however, revealed in the bombshell statement that she was in “denial.”

“I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m okay, I’m happy. It’s a lie,” she said. “I thought maybe if I said that enough I might become happy ’cause I’ve been in denial, I’ve been in shock. I’ve been traumatized.”

The star also claimed she was put on a course of lithium against her will, and during this time 6 nurses stayed with her who “wouldn’t let me get in my car to go anywhere, for a month. Not only did my family not do a God damn thing, but my dad was all for it.”

Alongside the lifting of the conservatorship, Britney is requesting a 2 to 3 year break from performing and wants to have another baby. She revealed her conservatorship inhibited her from removing a contraceptive intrauterine device that blocks her from getting pregnant.

Britney’s father Jamie’s lawyer said in a statement: “He is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr. Spears loves his daughter, and he misses her very much.”
