As protests across the country rage on, it seems as though many celebrities are backing the protestors fighting for their rights.
The latest celebrity to make a substantial donation to the cause is none other than the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast and showrunner who donated $100,000 to support the cause.
But their reasons for their generous donation is definitely controversial to its core. Read on to find out what it is...
We've been hearing about it all week... But do you truly understand what's going on?

The Black Lives Matter movement has never before been so prominent.

Footage of George's "arrest" quickly circulated on social media...

After nearly ten minutes, George was completely unresponsive.

This kind of police brutality has been happening for centuries now...

Thousands upon thousands of people have been taking to the streets in protest...
via: GettyAnd they are all marching for one thing: For the blatant racism and injustice in this country to be brought to an end.
But things have been quick to turn violent.
via: GettyThe scenes unfolding across our country have been becoming steadily more violent on both sides.
It's a truly terrifying time.

And, of course, an array of celebrities have been jumping on board to show their support.Ice Cube, have been speaking out against racism and injustice in, not only this country, but the rest of the world.
These famous figures have been using their platform to highlight the ongoing issues black men and women face every day...
We need change.
via: Getty ImagesBecause black people have previously been forced to stay silent on the unlawful killings taking place by authoritative figures, they have decided to become more vocal and take action.
Protests have continued day and night...
via: Getty ImagesAnd most of them started off peaceful...
But after the introduction of the police force and the National Guard, clashes between both sides have caused a lot of chaos.
via: Getty ImagesSome people used this incident as a means of personal gain, so they could damage property and steal things that did not belong to them. The term "looting" has been spreading like wildfire across the nation.
But what we must remember is that this is a result of years of pent up frustration at a system that does not respect black lives.
via: Getty ImagesIt's not about "all police officers" or "all lives", it's about the system on which our society was built on and that's what needs to be reformed.
However, it is also difficult for people that have been caught in the crossfire...
via: Getty ImagesSuch as business owners and journalists who have been unfairly targeted by both people that are only out to cause havoc and uncivilized members of the police force.
This is why celebrities and other famous faces are donating money to help out.
via: Getty ImagesAnd the latest to announce their involvement in none other than the comedy TV series, Brooklyn Nine-Nine who have previously been called out for their unrealistic portrayal of the police department.
They donated a substantial $100,000 to protestors.
