People are going crazy for buttered saltine crackers which is the latest bizarre food trend to hit TikTok, and we can see why...

Now, TikTok has well and truly taken over the food world. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, more and more people have been posting their weird and wonderful food trends online.

Below are 5 of the most popular snacks that have come out of the app recently, along with the recipe for how you can make them...

First up we have the latest buttered saltine crackers that everyone has gone crazy about. Now, this trend is probably the easiest of them all...

Grab your favorite brand of butter, preferably salted, and cut a slice onto your cracker. So simple!

But if you want a little something more, The Pioneer Woman has another winner with a few more steps. Preheat your oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit, Add butter to a saucepan, and mix in the seasoning of your choice. Grab some saltine crackers and place them in the mix. Once your oven is preheated and the crackers are soaked in butter, place the crackers on a rack, and bake for around twenty minutes.

Ranch pickles:

The trend comes from @snackqween on TikTok. she says the only 2 ingredients you need are a store-bought jar of dill pickles and a packet of ranch seasoning. Yes, that's really all you need. Just shake it up and you're ready to go!

Pesto eggs:

Now, this is more than just adding pesto to your eggs. You have to get the technique down. Scoop a few spoonfuls of pesto into your pan instead of butter. The oil in the pesto will keep the eggs from sticking, and then add the cheese and nuts in with the pesto. Once the pesto is looking nice and gooey, add your eggs, and cook them however you normally would.

Pasta chips:

@feelgoodfoodie went viral for her pasta chips air fryer recipe. In the video, it was Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Next, cook it in your air fryer at 400ºC for 10 minutes, tossing it halfway through. She then prepared a feta dip by mixing feta cheese, Greek yogurt, garlic, and olive oil in a food processor. To make it extra fancy, you can garnish with tomatoes and maybe some coriander, and there you have it!

Pickled garlic:

Pickled garlic is definitely one of my favorites, and so simple to make. You need a jar of pickled garlic which you drain, then mix the garlic with a lot of hot sauce, chili flakes, and dried thyme. That's literally it. You can serve it with almost anything as a side dish. Just make sure you're not on a date, because it isn't the mildest of smells.
