It’s never a shock when Camila Cabello makes headlines, whether it’s with boyfriend Shawn Mendes or it’s something regarding her solo singing career.
But it seems that the singer is now in very hot waters after Twitter users discover her old Tumblr account that features racist memes and slurs.

Camila is a Cuban-American singer/songwriter who rose to fame at the young age of just fifteen.
Camila, who is now twenty-two, auditioned for The X Factor back in 2012 in North Carolina.
But producers of the show called her back to the stage with other contestants, Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane, to form the girl group that would later be known as Fifth Harmony.
During her productions and tours with Fifth Harmony, Camila was known to drift away to work on a lot of her own solo material, including working with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes in 2015.
And she went on to collaborate with other artists and build up her solo career… oh, and she also began dating Shawn Mendes.
Though it is believed that they have been involved with one another for a much longer time.
Now, who could forget the cringiest kiss of the year?
Shawn and Camila posted a steamy video onto Instagram after fans were commenting on their strange kissing techniques and, we must say, it made some rather uncomfortable watching.
But never the less, it creeped a lot of people out.
And many fans began accusing the pair of using their relationship as a publicity stunt, especially as they’re still making music and a lot of money together.
On September 19, a TMZ camera crew caught Shawn walking through the terminal at LAX, where he told them the couple’s relationship is “definitely not a publicity stunt.”
But with showbiz being showbiz, things never stay quiet for long.
A Twitter user created a thread of Camila’s Tumblr posts, which have all now been deleted.
The thread included a series of inflammatory screenshots from the deactivated “vous-etess-belle” Tumblr account, which the user believes belonged to Cabello and which featured racist jokes, memes and repeated use of the N-word.
The tweet very quickly went viral…
The thread received 84,000 likes and 24,000 retweets, so Camila had no choice but to respond.
Camila posted a Tweet that read a lengthy caption:
“When I was younger, I used language that I’m deeply ashamed of and will regret forever. I was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible and hurtful language, I was deeply embarrassed that I ever used it,” she began by writing.
“I apologized then and I apologize now. I would never intentionally hurt anyone and I regret it from the bottom of my heart. As much as I wish I could, I can’t go back in time and change things I said in the past. But once you know better, you do better and that’s all I can do,” she went on to say.
“I’m 22 now, I’m an adult and I’ve grown and learned and am conscious and aware of the history and the pain it carries in a way I wasn’t before. Those mistakes don’t represent the person I am or the person I’ve ever been. I only stand or have ever stood for love and inclusivity and my heart has never, ever then, had any ounce of hate or divisiveness,” she insisted.
“The truth is I was embarrassingly ignorant and unware,” she concluded her message with.
“I use my platform to speak out about injustice and inequality and I’ll continue doing that. I can’t say enough how deeply sorry and ashamed I feel, and I apologize again from the bottom of my heart.”
A lot of Twitter users were not impressed…
And they hit out at Camila for blaming her age for her actions.
They defended Camila for being young and careless, but does that really make it okay to make racist comments and jokes?
