Now, the events from January 6th still haunt us to this day.

As a joint session of Congress convened to formally count the Electoral College votes and certify Joe Biden’s election win, lawmakers were forced to shelter in place and evacuate as pro-Trump rioters broke into the U.S Capitol Building.

And the world watched on, transfixed, as more and more rioters continued to spill into the Capitol and clash with police.

Even Trump got involved.

The former president was repeatedly urged to appear on national television to order his supporters to stand down.

On Wednesday, US District Judge Royce Lamberth sentenced the criminal to forty-one months behind bars.

The sentence is thirty months more than what Fairlamb’s lawyer agreed would be appropriate and just 3 months under what the prosecutors had hoped for.

Fairlamb’s latest stint joins 2 previous other convictions including a threat he made against Rep. Cori Bush.

“His previous sentences were not sufficient to deter this particular assault,” prosecutors said. “And so, we would submit that there is a real need for specific deterrence here.”

During the sentencing, the judge told the former mixed martial artist that his crime was a “serious offense.”

“It’s such a serious offense under the circumstances, and an affront to society and to the law,” the judge told Fairlamb during the sentencing hearing. “I cannot, in good conscience, go below the guidelines.”

We’re glad he’s been brought to justice.
