George Anthony was seen for the first time since taking a polygraph test about his granddaughter’s murder.

Back in 2008, Casey Anthony became infamous following the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Six months after she vanished, Caylee’s remains were discovered in a wooded area near the family home.

Anthony was initially charged with the murder of her daughter.

But, during her 2011 trial, her legal team said that Caylee had drowned in the family pool.

She was acquitted of murder charges on July 5, 2011, which led to public outrage that still follows Casey to this day.

Still, she was convicted on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement, which she served prison time for.

In 2022, during a three-part limited series called Casey Anthony: Where The Truth Lies, Anthony spoke out about the death of her daughter in her first time.

During the special, she elaborated on allegations that she had been sexually abused by her father, George, and her brother, Lee.

Anthony also went on to accuse her father of staging Caylee’s drowning in order to cover up that he may have been abusing his granddaughter.

“I wasn’t feeling that great, and I wanted to lay down,” Anthony says about June 16, 2008, when Caylee was last seen. “I had her lay in bed with me.”

“I was awoken by [my father] shaking me and asking me where Caylee was,” she continues. “That didn’t make sense. She would never even leave my room without telling me.

Anythony says she then saw her father holding Caylee, though she didn’t realize she was dead.

“She was soaking wet. He handed her to me. Said it was my fault,” Casey explained. “That I caused it. But he didn’t rush to call 911 and he wasn’t trying to resuscitate her. I collapsed with her in my arms. She was heavy, and she was cold.”

“During the 31 days, I genuinely believed that Caylee was still alive,” she says. “My father kept telling me she was ok. I had to keep following his instructions. He told me what to do. I tried to act as normal as I could.”

Now, more than a year after these accusations, George Anthony is telling his side of the story.

This comes ahead of the release of a TV special set to premiere on Thursday, in which he and his wife agree to take a polygraph test.

The 72-year-old and his wife Cindy Anthony, 65, are speaking out in A&E’s new special, Casey Anthony’s Parents: The Lie Detector Test.

This special comes about a year after Casey Anthony doubled down on allegations that George not only molested her, but that he may have killed Caylee.

In a Peacock TV docuseries released in 2022, George has repeatedly denied his daughter’s claims.

On Tuesday, George was seen walking in front of his house, appearing to have a relatively calm demeanor while he talked on the phone.

He also appears to have lost weight over the last year, looking slimmer than he did in photos from November 2o22.

In the upcoming special, George and Cindy take a polygraph test in an effort to prove their innocence in their granddaughter’s infamous murder.

A clip from the special shows George “struggling” to answer a question from retired FBI Special Agent George Olivo.

Olivo said polygraph tests are “85 to 90% accurate” when administered correctly.
