Now, one Attorney has gone viral after he struggled to remove the cat filter during a court meeting...
These fun moments are a by-product of the legal profession's dedication to ensuring that the justice system continues to function in these tough times. Everyone involved handled it with dignity, and the filtered lawyer showed incredible grace. True professionalism all around!— Judge Roy Ferguson (@JudgeFergusonTX) February 9, 2021
And the results are pretty hilarious.
A Texas attorney showed up to a video court hearing, looking a little fluffy around the edges...

But it surprisingly didn't get in the way of official business.
"I'm prepared to go forward with it," Rod Ponton told the judge...
The best part is that he is prepared to go forward with his case AS a cat, despite not BEING a cat.— RBG (@505training) February 9, 2021

Legal proceedings would be 100x better if all of the participants were required to use a Zoom filter throughout.
This all went down on Tuesday before the 394th Judicial District Court.
Kendyl Hanks was the first to spot the video and posted on Twitter...
I can’t remember the last time I laughed this hard 🤣. That cat like ‘Oh F’... pic.twitter.com/3yUENbiy3f— Desirée (@DesireeMoffitt) February 9, 2021
Hanks was only able to post the video for educational purposes, to ensure it doesn't happen again.
Judge Roy Ferguson was the first to point out the issue...
That’s it! Standing local rule that all attorneys must use animal filters on Zoom.— Meagan Hassan (@meagan4justice) February 9, 2021
"Mr. Ponton, I believe you have a filter turned on in the video settings," he said.
One of the attorneys grabbed his glasses to get a better look...
This video has literally improved my life. 😂😂😂— Brenda Kent (@BrenKent2) February 9, 2021
"I don't know how to remove it," Ponton said. "I have my assistant here. She's trying to but, I'm prepared to go forward with it."
"I'm not a cat," he said, while the other attorney looked up and smirked at the strange situation.
"I can see that," Ferguson responded.
Ponton later admitted he'd logged on for the hearing from a secretary's computer.
OMG!! Rod Ponton is the hero we needed today! 😂😂— Maryinmin (@maryfonno) February 9, 2021
"When I logged in to Zoom for the hearing, to my great surprise I was a cat," he said.
