Christmas is always full of joy and cheer for many people around the world. But, it can also be a little bit dull for others, who have less to give, or who’ve lost someone near and dear to their heart.

It can also be difficult for those who unexpectedly become unemployed…

Right before Christmas, too.

No way, nobody would do that right before Christmas, would they? And if they did, they’d do it with a little bit of compassion, right?

Wrong.

We’re sorry to say but this really happened, and it was brutal, as well.

The CEO of Better.com, a mortgage firm based in New York, called a meeting with over 900 employees, and the news he gave them wasn’t all too pleasant…

Telling them that they’re no longer going to be a part of the firm going forward.

However, it wasn’t just the fact that forty-three-year-old Vishal Garg, the CEO of the firm, fired his employees so close to Christmas, but the way he fired them.

And 1 of the employees actually recorded it, sharing it on the TikTok platform.

“Hi everyone. Thank you for joining,” the CEO started off in the zoom call.

“I come to you with not great news,” he continues.

Well, it’s always reassuring when the CEO of a company says that to you, isn’t it?

“The market has changed, as you know, and we have to move with it in order to survive, so then hopefully we can continue to thrive and continue our mission,” he told his 900 employees.

No problem so far, right? In fact, it sounds kind of motivating.

Well, you won’t be thinking that way for long, so keep scrolling to find out exactly what he had to say…

Let’s hear it for the least empathetic way to tell your staff that they’re not going to have a job for Christmas.

“This isn’t the news you’re going to want to hear,” he continued with his speech.

“But ultimately it was my decision and I wanted you to hear it from me.

“It’s been a really challenging decision to make. This is the 2nd time in my career that I’m doing this, and I really do not want to do this.”

He then said to the people he was laying off that: “The last time I did this I cried. This time I hope to be stronger.”

Vishal, the CEO of a $7.7 billion company, with a net worth estimated to be around the $4 billion mark, as per The Focus, announced to his 900 employees that he wanted to be stronger in telling them that they no longer had a job with Better.com.

And then, just like that, he came out with it:
“We are laying off about fifteen percent of the company, for a number of reasons.”

Resulting in the person behind the camera whispering: “Motherf*cker.”

“A market deficiency, and productivity,” he explained, “If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off.”

“I wish the news was different, I wish that we were thriving enthusiastically everywhere. But, that’s not the case, and I’m sure you will leave us and be more successful, more fortunate, and luckier in your next endeavor,” he finished off.
