Channing Tatum and Jessie J were truly couple goals. From their low-key beginnings to their hilarious online pranks, many thought the American actor and British musician were the real deal. Or at least, we hoped so.

But it's been confirmed that the 2 have now decided to go their separate ways after a year of dating. And in spite of the fact sources claim there's been no drama between the 2, some suspect there's more to the story - involving Tatum's ex-wife Jenna Dewan.

Born in 1980 in Cullman, Alabama, he's had an illustrious (and varied) acting career.

He first rose to fame in 2006's Step Up.

After the popular dance movie, he became known for starring as the romantic lead in a range of slightly sappy films, including 2010's Dear John.

Tatum is also the star of the G.I. Joe franchise.

He's played Duke in both The Rise Of The Cobra and Retaliation. Though the films were critically panned, they were hugely commercially successful.

The actor also has serious comedy chops.

Tatum starred alongside Jonah Hill in action comedy films 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, for which he received critical praise.

Of course, there's one role that he's best known for.

Tatum is the star of both Magic Mike and the sequel, Magic Mike XXL - the latter of which he also produced. He claimed to have drawn inspiration for the role from his own time working as a stripper.

Tatum also has a reputation of being a generally nice guy.

He's funny, kind-hearted and incredibly down to earth - and is never afraid to laugh at himself.

Who could forget this iconic performance?

His portrayal of Beyonce on Lip Sync Battle will likely go down in the show's history. Tatum absolutely nailed it.

Oh, and did we forget to mention?

Tatum is pretty easy on the eye, too. In fact, he probably makes one of the most universal appearances on any celebrity crush list.

It seems that there's nothing Tatum can't do.

He's one of the most universally loved actors of today - and we can absolutely see why!

For a long time, Tatum was married.

He met his wife, Jenna Dewan, in 2006, when the pair filmed Step Up together. The couple married in Malibu in 2009.

They even had a baby together.

Tatum and Dewan's daughter was born in May of 2013 in London, UK.

But, unfortunately, the pair couldn't make it last.

In April of 2018, Tatum announced on social media that the pair were separating. They divorced six months later.

But they've stayed on good terms.

It seems that the two are still very friendly and enjoy co-parenting their young daughter together.

Recently, it seemed Tatum had found love again.

He first met singer Jessie J in 2015, but the 2 only started dating fairly recently.

Jessie and Tatum started dating in October of 2018, and seem to be very much in love.

Jessie J has had some huge hits over the years.

Her 2011 single, "Price Tag", was an international hit, topping the charts in a whopping nineteen different countries.

She was also a part of 2014's biggest banger.

In "Bang Bang," Jessie J collaborated with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. The song ended up going multi-platinum worldwide.

Like Tatum, she's also known for being down to earth.

The has a cute, genuine persona which has endeared her to many fans around the world.

The pair began dating last fall.

And although they tend to keep the majority of their relationship private, they did share the odd cute moment on social media.

The couple made headlines during their relationship.

Jessie J serenaded Tatum in a super romantic fashion in celebration of the actor's thirty-ninth birthday on April 26th.

And it seemed that the couple are doing just great.

They shared some very cute social media antics. One which will go down in infamy involved the couple's board game night.

Their game of choice?

The ever-frustrating (though not necessarily particularly strategic) Jenga, of course!

The two decided to spice things up a little.

The way that they chose to do this? By adding another layer of interest to their game, in the form of a cheeky bet. The winner would get to post any photo of their choosing on the loser's social media accounts.

And as to who won?

Well, that was clear - as Jessie J posted this very NSFW picture from her boyfriend's Instagram and Twitter accounts. Good choice!

People were shocked.

Although many were very, very grateful to Jessie J for posting the undeniably gorgeous pic.

It's clear that Tatum didn't lose any fans over it.

In fact, if anything, it seems that the internet loves him even more! Being super attractive is one thing, but being able to not take yourself too seriously? Now that's hot.

But recent developments haven't been so heartwarming.

Because this week, sources confirmed Tatum and J had decided to part ways.

Apparently there's no bad blood between the 2.

According to UsWeekly, "Channing Tatum and Jessie J broke up about a month ago. They are still really close and still good friends."

The 2 just wanted different things out of life.

According to People, "Channing and Jessie have different priorities and focuses that don’t really align. They had a fun relationship, but it just didn’t work out. Channing needs to be in LA a lot so he can spend time with Everly. Jessie prefers England."

Although this isn't the only big news in Tatum's life.

It's also been revealed that Tatum's ex-wife Jenna Dewan is expecting a new baby with her boo Steve Kazee. Sounds like Tatum's life is pretty tumultuous at the moment! Fancy more Tatum content? Scroll on for his controversial hair look. He's unrecognizable!
