Channing Tatum has announced that Magic Mike 3 is set to launch, and we couldn’t be any more excited.

For those who haven’t watched Magic Mike, or Magic XXL, then you definitely need to catch up before number 3 drops…

But, to clue you in, loosely based on Channing Tatum’s short period of time as a stripper, Magic Mike, or, Michael Lane, is a handyman by day, and a stripper by night, teaching a young performer some of the tricks of his trade and then realizing that his line of work might threaten his relationship with a girl he met.

And, if you haven’t watched 1, we won’t spoil 2 for you…
We will say, though, that it’s pretty entertaining.

And that’s why we’re so excited to see Channing Tatum’s Twitter post…

Channing Tatum’s script, seen in his Twitter post, gives a little something away with the title Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

And he’s eager to tell the world he’s coming back: “Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in,” he wrote on the post.

People swarmed his comment section with actor recommendations, too, varying from Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Evans to Adam Driver and Alex Pettyfer.

The 3rd Magic Mike has been written yet again by the excellent American film producer and screenwriter Reid Carolin, and the director of the 1st Magic Mike, Steven Soderbergh has returned to the set for Mike’s last dance.

In a statement, according to US Magazine, Tatum said: “There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of Magic Mike with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max. The stripperverse will never be the same.”

And director Soderbergh wants everyone to reach further into the meaning of the next movie…

“Mike Lane’s dream of connecting people through dance must be realized!” he said in a press release.

And, in an interview with Sway In The Morning, before the 1st movie was aired, when asked if he had to prepare for the role, Channing said: “Other than training and stuff, getting the stripper to look back, no, you know you’ve just got to dust off and get the hips loosened up a bit and that’s it.”

He even said that he’s doing a movie so he can “stop talking about this thing,” in reference to his past as a performer.

“After this movie, I will never talk about it again,” he said, laughing.

And, I think it’s safe to say, it does inspire a heck of a lot of people, too…

Tatum was in fact a stripper before he made it into Hollywood. When he was just eighteen years old, Tatum worked in a club called Male Encounter under the stripper name Chan Crawford, and so, after making it as an actor, he eventually decided that he wanted to tell his story.

And that’s why we’re all so fortunate to be able to sit and watch Magic Mike today! We can’t wait for number 3, can you?
