She explained in the video that the achievement felt like a “dream” and said

A certain viral video was responsible for her losing her streak.

TikTok users were shocked by Charli’s actions in a recent episode of The D’Amelio Show, so much so, that they unfollowed her.

In the episode, Charli was with her sister, her parents, and James Charles while they were being served food by their personal chef Aaron May…

However, when May served the food, the D’Amelio girls disrespectfully shunned his cooking.

Fans were disgusted by their actions in the clip…

However, others pointed out that she was just a child at the time.

Ont Twitter user wrote: “Charli D’Amelio really lost 1 million followers because of the toxicity of cancel culture. I never speak about things like this but this is a minor who made a joke about a follower count milestone. And she doesn’t like snail. God forbid she acts like a KID.”

Another commented: “Yall hate on Charli for everything. It’s a f***ing SNAIL. Do you expect her to just eat it? She gagged. I would’ve done the same thing. This a just a 16-year-old girl. Do you have anything better to do? Leave her alone for once! @charlidamelio doesn’t deserve this!”

May made a paella that included snails. “It’s classic paella, and it’s actually an omen of good luck and fortune,” he said at the time.

Charli repiled: “Liars,” while Dixie gagged in front of May after trying a snail.

Charli’s follower count quickly dropped by thousands at a time, and she was heavily criticized for her behavior.

After the backlash, she addressed the episode on social media.

“You can hate on me for whatever I’ve done but the fact that all of this is happening because of a misunderstanding,” she wrote.

“I just feel like that’s not okay. If this is the community that I’ve put myself in, I don’t know if I want to do that anymore.”

Her sister, Dixie also shared her response online…

She said: “I love Chef, and I would never disrespect him in any way, and maybe don’t judge someone’s personality over a 15-second video.”

However, despite this, she quickly became the most followed content creator on the platform…
