Everyone knows Cher for her iconic hits like ‘I Got You, Babe’, ‘Love Can Build a Bridge’, ‘I Found Someone’, and ‘The Shoop Shoop Song’.

Her career started back when she was just sixteen years old.
Cher moved to Los Angeles where she met entertainer and songwriter Sonny Bono, who she married in 1964.

The couple began singing together and their first big pop hit came in 1965 with ‘I Got You Babe’, which reportedly sold more than 3 million copies.
The duo scored a number of hits, but by the late 1960s, their popularity began to fade.

The 1971 television show The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour ran until 1974, and Cher’s solo career flourished.
It was then when Cher and Sonny divorced in 1974, however they still appeared as co-hosts of another television show between 1976 and 1977.

Cher then managed to cultivate a successful nightclub act and revisited an earlier interest in acting, whereas Sonny retired from show business altogether.
She appeared in Broadway and Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean in 1982, and even received an Academy Award nomination for her supporting role in Silkwood in 1983.

But it was only in 1988 that she actually won an Academy Award for her starring role as an Italian American widow in the romantic comedy Moonstruck.
Her other movies included Mask, Tea with Mussolini the musical drama Burlesque, and Zookeeper.

The news comes as the pair were photographed holding hands at Hollywood restaurant Craig’s earlier this week, according to The Independent.

Apparently, Cher’s new man is the vice president of A&R at the legendary music company Def Jam, which is home to artists like Rihanna, Pusha T, Nas, Public Enemy, and Justin Bieber.
Cher followed the post on Sunday with a picture of her new beau and a heart emoji.

And in response to those criticizing the couple’s forty-year age gap, Cher simply said an iconic “Haters are gonna hate.”
