Of course, we all remember the original teen comedy Sabrina The Teenage Witch, but the recent The Chilling Adventures Sabrina gave the franchise a spooky makeover.

So instead of just being a plucky blonde student with a cute boyfriend and talking cat...

Sabrina is now also a wielder of the black arts and a devoted worshipper of the devil.

As you've probably guessed, the dark coming-of-age story centers on a slightly different half "mortal" half-witch, Sabrina Spellman.

In the reimagined origin story, Sabrina wrestles to reconcile her dual nature, while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the world in which us humans inhabit.

The show was an instant success.

Many critics and fans praising it for its strong female characters, diversity, and its admiration and respect for the horror genre.

Of course, it's insane popularity meant we got a third installment (part 1 of season 2) just this year...

And once again, fans lapped it up.

In spite of its sizeable fanbase, it looks like the end is in sight for the beloved show.

Netflix has made the risky decision to cancel it.

The announcement was made by the show's Twitter page.

The series will be closing the curtain after just 2 seasons (which have so far been split into 3 parts).

The final 8 episodes of the series (dubbed as part 4) are expected to debut on the platform later this year...

With what Netflix hails "a spooky, sexy, and supernatural series finale."

Over the course of Part 4’s eight episodes, The Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale.

The infamous coven must fend off each horrifying threat  (The Weird, The Returned, The Darkness, just to name a few), all leading up to The Void, which is the "End of All Things." Sounds cheery, right?

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa released a statement about the news of the axing.

“Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from Day One. “The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show. I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television, and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see Part Four."

Of course, fans are devastated.

It didn't take long for viewers to flock to Twitter to express their frustration at the controversial decision.

People are not ready to kiss their favorite coven goodbye...

And many are baffled by the decision to ax a show that is so popular.

This just truly sums up 2020.

As if 2020 couldn't get any worse...

In fact, a petition has now been set up to save the show...

One of the huge reasons why people love the show so much is for its "incredible" characters.

Many are now raising this point.

People can't get their heads around the fact that Riverdale has been able to continue, yet Sabrina is getting the plug pulled on it.

In fact, so many people were saying the same thing...

Clearly nobody wants Sabrina to end. C'mon, Netflix?

But, in spite of the protests, it's been confirmed this will be the final season.

But there is some good news - we have a release date!

This is far from the only bad press Netflix has had recently...

Many people have a huge problem with its new series, Space Force. Keep scrolling to find out why...
