Be it for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy or his political views or his religious beliefs — Pratt has made the news for it all.

And of course, we’re not forgetting his very public relationship with Anna Faris.

His relationship with Faris well and truly dominated the news cycle.

The pair married in 2009 and just a few years later, Anna gave birth to their son, Jack.

But in 2017, Anna and Chris separated, later filing for a divorce after 5 months apart.

Luckily, the pair have remained close.

They’re good friends and co-parents — so that’s something of a happy ending.

But recently Faris and Pratt hit headlines for something that may put a strain on their friendship.

After Chris Pratt shared a post dedicated to his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger that praised her while using a controversial choice of words…

In Pratt’s adoring post to his wife, he thanked her for giving him “a gorgeous healthy daughter.”

“Find you somebody that looks at you like that!! You know!? We met in church. She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes I put in my earbuds to drown it out, but that’s love!” he wrote.

Pratt and Schwarzenegger share a fourteen-month-old daughter named Lyla.

However, many think that his choice of words were insensitive to Faris and their son, 9-year-old, Jack.

Jack, was born 9 weeks premature and Faris has previously revealed that their son weighed just 3 pounds and twelve ounces at birth, The Independent reports.

Jack also spent the first month in the NICU.

Faris also opened up about Jack’s birth in her memoir, Unqualified.

“The pediatric neurosurgeon sat Chris and me down to tell us that Jack had some severe brain bleeding and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled,” she wrote.

The post has caused quite the divide online but Chris’ mom-in-law, Maria Shriver quickly joined those trying to defend him.

And it’s caused mixed opinions once again…

At first, Maria Shriver commented saying that she couldn’t “agree more” with what he wrote.

Before also adding: “This is so sweet now show us how you look at her,” after Pratt spoke about how Katherine adores him.

But following the criticism, she added another comment.

And this time, she told Pratt to “rise above the noise” while adding that he is “a great father.”

“I want to remind you today what a good man you are what a great father you are to jack and Lyla what a great husband you are to Katherine what a great son-in-law you are to me and what a great sense of humor you have !!” she wrote.

“I love you Chris keep being your wonderful self rise above the noise your kids love your family loves you your wife loves you what a beautiful life I’m proud of you xo.”

And now, Pratt has revealed that the whole ordeal made him cry.

  via Getty Images

At the time, following the backlash of the first Instagram post, he posted to his stories, saying that some of the harsh comments left him “upset and depressed.”

And in an interview with Men’s Health, Pratt opened up about the ordeal…

  via Getty Images

“I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me,'” he recalled, adding: “And then I gave her some s**t in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife — she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter.'”

“And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife.'”

  via Getty Images

“And I’m like, ‘That is f***ed up,'” Chris continued. “My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s 9. And it’s etched in digital stone.”

Pratt then revealed that he cried because of it, “it really f***ing bothered me, dude,” he said.

“I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are — to the people close to me — a real burden.”

The actor has also been bashed online for his most recent role…

  via Getty Images

As we know, Pratt has been cast as the voice of Mario in the new Super Mario Bros. movie, and he’s been receiving backlash for it…

The actor told Variety this year that he “worked really closely with the directors” to get Mario’s voice perfect…

Adding, “[We tried] out a few things and landed on something that I’m really proud of.”

“It’s an animated voiceover narrative,” Pratt explained.

  via Getty Images

“It’s not a live-action movie. I’m not gonna be wearing a plumber suit running all over. I’m providing a voice for an animated character, and it is updated and unlike anything you’ve heard in the Mario world before.”

But people weren’t exactly impressed when they heard the first teaser clip for his character…

“Ehhh I just don’t like Chris Pratt’s voice for Mario… It’s toooooo different from the source. It makes Mario sound ridiculous,” one fan tweeted.

“Chris Pratt should’ve never been cast as the voice of Mario. 1. Chris Pratt is not a voice actor. 2. He’s not even trying to sound like Mario. He gave a canon Italian man the most American accent and this is one of the biggest disappointments of the year,” another wrote.

The movie also stars Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad.

And it’s not just fans that are outraged over the choice to cast Pratt as the voice of Mario, OG Luigi actor John Leguizamo has also bashed the move…

  via Getty Images

Leguizamo played Luigi in the 1993 live-action Super Mario Bros.

“I’m O.G. A lot of people love the original,” he told Indiewire this week.

  via Getty Images

“I did Comic-Con in New York and in Baltimore, and everyone’s like, ‘No, no, we love the old one, the original.’ They’re not feeling the new one. I’m not bitter. It’s unfortunate.”

“The directors Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton fought really hard for me to be the lead because I was a Latin man, and they [the studio] didn’t want me to be the lead.

  via Getty Images

“They fought really hard, and it was such a breakthrough. For them to go backwards and not cast another [actor of color] kind of sucks,” Leguizamo added.

But in spite of all the negative attention, one person remains a huge fan of Chris Pratt.

His wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger.

“Growing up, hearing people say certain things about my parents, my siblings, my extended family” was difficult, she told The New York Times.

“I see what people say,” she continued.

“But I just know that it’s so far from the reality.”

Soon after, Pratt was back in hot water.

He recently posted a “disgusting,” image on his Instagram.

What was so gross about the image you ask? Well, it was off his toe. (And it didn’t look too good).

He captioned the pic ”Met Gala Look.”

And people were not happy about it.

With one person writing: “Chris Pratt’s toenail was not what I expected to see when opening insta, but I sure can’t unsee it.”

Take a look at the controversial post right here.

But now, Chris Pratt has revealed how he deals with the haters.

And it has to do with Jesus!

“If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20,” he shared, as per IMDB.

  via Shutterstock

“That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too,” he added.

And this isn’t the first time Pratt has spoken about how Jesus helps him deal with negative attention!

  via Shutterstock

In the past, he’s told Men’s Health: “I didn’t know that I would kind of become the face of religion when really I’m not a religious person.”

“I think there’s a distinction between being religious — adhering to the customs created by man, oftentimes appropriating the awe reserved for who I believe is a very real God — and using it to control people, to take money from people, to abuse children, to steal land, to justify hatred.”

  via Shutterstock

“Whatever it is. The evil that’s in the heart of every single man has glommed on to the back of religion and come along for the ride.”

Pratt also denied his involvement with the controversial celebrity church Hillsong.

  via Shutterstock

“I never went to Hillsong. I’ve never actually been to Hillsong. I don’t know anyone from that church.”

What do you think of his stance?
