Chris Wallace has announced he is leaving Fox News.

After almost two decades at Fox, Wallace announced today that he is leaving the channel.

The 74-year-old is going to work for CNN’s new streaming platform.

Announcing his departure, Wallace thanked his fans and viewers for joining him every week on Fox News Sunday.

He said:

“The fact you’ve chosen to spend this hour with us is something I cherish. But after 18 years, I have decided to leave Fox.”

When he joined Fox, Wallace was promised that executives at the company would not interfere with his politics.

And he says that they stuck to that promise, adding:

“I want to try something new to go beyond politics, to all the things I’m interested in. I’m ready for a new adventure. And I hope you’ll check it out.”

Good luck Wallace.

Fox also issued a statement saying that they were incredibly proud of Wallace’s work and wished him the best of luck for the future.
