Chrissy Teigen Praised For Bravely Sharing Experience of Miscarriage and Raising Awareness | 22 Words

Chrissy Teigen has today announced the tragic news that she lost her third child...

The model took to Instagram to inform her followers of the devastating turn of events.

Millions of people have since been sending their heartfelt condolences to both Chrissy and John during this difficult time.

And, amongst the well-wishes...

People have also been applauding Chrissy for using her platform to "bravely" share her story and raise awareness of the risks of miscarriage.

Now, Chrissy has always been one of Hollywood's favorite faces.

 She started dating musician John Legend over a decade ago, and the couple have gone from strength to strength ever since.

Their romance began in 2007.

Chrissy and John first met on the set of his 2007 music video for “Stereo," where she starred as the singer's love interest.

While John was on the road, the couple talked and texted religiously...

But it wasn't long before Chrissy joined her beau on tour, although the pair had a mini-break up during this time... that lasted a day. “I was on tour with him and he’d gotten sick," she explained. “He was feeling really bummed and stressed out. He was like, ‘I can’t be in a relationship right now.’ That lasted for one day. Literally, a day. I knew it came from a place other than us not working."

Fast forward 4 years of dating and John was down on one knee...

"We get to the Maldives and he had planned this beautiful Christmas. He knows how much I love Christmas…And this waiter comes out with a silver dome for dessert…So he opens up the dome and a ton of arugula falls out and then I kind of fish in it…And I see the little box and then you know, your heart stops and you get so excited," Chrissy explained.

The pair got hitched on September 14, 2013, in Lake Como.

But they (legally) got married in an NYC courthouse, a day before traveling to Italy.

They have since cemented themselves as a firm Hollywood power couple.

 The two are a pivotal part of the celebrity scene and their fans lap it up (especially where Chrissy's relatable social media posts are concerned... let's be honest, she's comedy gold!)

All in all, they are truly relationship goals...

And their little family is simply the cutest.

The couple share 2 children together...

Chrissy gave birth to their daughter, Luna Simone Stephens, on April 14, 2016, and son, Miles Theodore Stephens, on May 16, 2018.

 Yep, the Legends were officially going to be a family of 5.

It's a beautiful video...

And clearly, the family was overjoyed at the prospect of a new arrival.

However, Chrissy had a difficult road ahead.

Due to a "weak placenta", the model was ordered to strict bed-rest for the entirety of her pregnancy.

Luckily, little Luna was on hand to care for her mom.

The youngster had been running around making sure her mom doesn't lift a finger.

Luna had been running baths for her mom every day...

And Chrissy shared an adorable snap of Luna washing her hair. "Every day she makes me a warm (not hot, chill!) bath and refuses to let me wash my own hair 😩 girls, man. @johnlegend how did we get so lucky with lulu??" she wrote.

But sadly, it seems that Luna's efforts to look after her mom were to little avail.

 Reports came in recently that Chrissy had been hospitalized.

The star took to social media on Sunday to update her worried fans.

 "So, we all know I've been on bed rest for a few weeks. And that's like super serious bed rest, like get up to quickly pee and that's it. I would take baths twice a week, no showering. I was always, always bleeding... I'm about halfway through pregnancy and blood has been going for a month...maybe a little less than a month. But we're talking more than your period, girls, but definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot and it's usually fine. Mine was a lot."

She went on to explain that every time she would go to the bathroom, there would be blood.

"But honestly, just laying there would be blood," she said. "But today, the big difference was that it kind of was like if you were to turn a faucet onto low and leave it there. It's so weird because I feel really good... I'm usually at my happiest pregnant, mood-wise. I feel happier than I do not pregnant. That's why it's so hard for me to come to terms with. It was at the point today where it was never stopping bleeding."

But then, Chrissy went on to urge doctors on social media to stop trying to diagnose her.

"You have to trust me that I have very good doctors who know what they're doing, who know the entire story," she said. "There's so much more than you can ever imagine. I share a lot, but not absolutely everything. So trust me when I say they know and I just want to keep things so simple for you guys."

"I guess in the simplest of terms, we can say my placenta is really, really weak."

 "But I feel really good. The baby is so healthy, growing stronger than Luna or Miles. He moves a lot. He moves so much earlier than they ever did. He's strong. I'm so excited for him because he's so wonderful, the strongest little dude. So, I can't wait for him."

However, the devastating news has now reached us that Chrissy has lost her third child.

She shared the news on Wednesday, letting fans know that their son, who they had named Jack, had not survived to full term.

The baby was unable to survive the complications Chrissy had experienced with her pregnancy.

Chrissy said: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before."

She continued:

"We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever."

She ended the emotional post by saying:

"We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience.  But every day can’t be full of sunshine.  On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it."

Since the news broke, the messages of support have been flooding in.

People from all over the world have been sending their well-wishes to both Chrissy and John during this unthinkable time.

And, amid the messages of condolence...

People have also been commending Chrissy for her bravery.

It's no secret that women's reproductive health has always been a "hush-hush" topic...

So for Chrissy to share her heartwrenching story onto her platform is a huge step in removing the stigma surrounding miscarriages.

And noted that, if more people start talking about it, they will ultimately feel less alone. "When I miscarried last fall, I was blown away how many women in my circle, both in-person and online, said me too. 4 in 5 women in my circle. If we talk about it, we don’t feel so alone."
