Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale isn’t making headlines for another blockbuster—he’s making them for a life-changing project that’s been nearly two decades in the making.

In 2022, the organization landed $1.7 million in combined funding from the city of Palmdale and Los Angeles County to purchase a 4.7-acre lot.
That empty land outside Los Angeles? It’s now a major construction site with bulldozers and builders shaping what Bale calls “a model of care.”
The development will feature 12 townhomes, each with three bedrooms and designed to house six foster children along with professional caregivers.
Plans include a massive community hub packed with enrichment programs, counseling rooms, and safe spaces for connection.
Studio apartments will also serve as transitional housing for teens aging out of the system and temporary space for birth parents working toward reunification.

By August, the first walls were going up—a visual proof of Bale’s 17-year mission finally breaking ground.
“The vision is clear: a model of care filled with hope,” Together California captioned a timelapse video of the site.

“When I close my eyes for the last time, this will be what I’m most proud of,” Bale shared with CBS.
