British actor Christian Bale has said he is open to playing Batman, after admitting he had “a pact” with Christopher Nolan.
Bale played the role of Bruce Wayne in the 2005 Batman Begins.
While the role has now been overtaken by Robert Pattinson, the actor actually revealed what conditions could see him make a return — and the reason may surprise you…
“I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, Hey, look. Let’s make three films if we’re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long,” the actor told Screen Rant.
The actor then went on to confess he “wouldn’t mind” if Christopher Nolan wanted him to star in yet another movie.
He told the media outlet: “In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’ And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”
However, Bale fans shouldn’t get too excited…
As the actor said there’s been no conversation about him returning to the DC franchise.
“No one’s ever mentioned it to me. No one’s brought it up,” he said.
Bale further added that people come up to him with the news of his return and he’s always so surprised: “Occasionally people say to me, ‘Oh, I hear you were approached and offered all this.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s news to me. No one’s ever said that’.”
Despite Pattinson reigning the big screen as Batman, fans still anticipate Bale’s return…
“BRING HIM BACK DAMNIT, ” wrote one fan, gushing at the revelation of his return.
While another thought Bale’s exit from the role was perfectly timed.
