Now, police brutality has long been an issue here in the states.

For too long now, our law enforcement has been riddled with unnecessary force and violence, particularly among minority communities.

Our police officers are supposed to be protecting us…

But, sadly, there are a select few who choose to abuse their power and privilege, rather than use it for the better.

The Black Lives Matter protests that happened across the country last year provided perfect evidence of this.

There were some officers who, instead of looking out for and supervising the protestor’s safety, responded with needless violence.

It doesn’t help that countless lives have been lost at the hands of police brutality, too.

George Floyd and Breonna Taylor are just 2 of the lives needlessly lost at the hands of violent police officers.

So, when footage started circulating of an Army Lt. being pepper sprayed by police.

Sadly, many people weren’t too surprised.

The incident happened in December.

However the bodycam footage has only just been revealed and it’s truly disturbing.

The footage shows Army Lieutenant, Caron Nazario.

The Lieutenant, Caron Nazario, who is Black and Latino, was pulled over for not having a license plate.

Although from bodycam footage the car appears to be new and has a registration in the window.

The cop in the footage has his gun aimed at Nazario and repeatedly screams at him to get out of the vehicle.

Nazario has his hands in the air at all times.

At one point he replies to the officer saying that he is scared to get out of the vehicle.

The cop responds saying: “You should be.”

Then the cop pepper sprayed Nazario. Not once, but four times.

Even Nazario’s dog in the back of the vehicle was choking from the pepper spray.

Nazario was then pulled out of his SUV and forced onto the ground and cuffed.

Nazario claims that a cop told him if he complained they’d throw the book at him.

Saying they’d hit him with all sorts of charges such as obstruction of justice, eluding police, assault on a cop, etc.

The response on the internet has been huge.

The younger cop in the video however.

Seems uneasy throughout most of the video…

Take a look at the shocking footage before.

And now Gutierrez has been fired from the department.

“The Town of Windsor prides itself in its small-town charm and the community-wide respect of its Police Department. Due to this, we are saddened for events like this to cast our community in a negative light.”
