Country Singer Jake Flint Dies Aged 37, Just Hours After His Wedding

Jake Flint sadly died at the age of thirty-seven, just hours after his wedding ceremony.

His death was confirmed by his publicist, Clif Doyal.

Throughout his remarkable career, Flint had produced 4 studio albums.

Jake Flint, released in 2020. And his most recent album was Live and Socially Distanced at Mercury Lounge, which was released in 2021.

In 2019, Flint earned himself a Breakout Artist of the Year at the We Are Tulsa Music Awards.

Flint went on to tie the knot with his wife, Brenda.

But things went from happy to dark real quick.

The pair exchanged their vows which took place at a homestead between Claremore and Owasso in his native Oklahoma.

His death has left everyone who knew him and who was in attendance at his wedding heartbroken.

One of the band members who was playing at his wedding, Mike Hosty, called his death a tragedy.

“He was a singer-songwriter, through and through, and just a big personality,” Hosty said.

“A big heart, and he’d bend over backwards to do anything for you.

“When any musician asks you to play at their wedding, it’s one of those most important days… and it’s always an honor.”

Brenda Cline, Flint’s former manager, and good friend was shattered by the devastating news.

She took to Facebook to honor the late singer by posting a photo of both of them when signing their artist management contract.

“That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship and partnership,” Cline wrote.

“Jake was even more than that to me, I loved him much like a son.

“The funniest, most hilarious, hardest working, dedicated artist I have ever worked with in my career.”

She continued: “Jake has a million friends and I’m not sure how everyone will cope with this tragic loss. We need prayers – it’s all so surreal. Please please pray for his new wife Brenda, Jake’s precious mother, his sister and the rest of his family and friends.

“This is going to be incredibly difficult for so many. We love you Jake and in our hearts forever.”

His cause of death has not yet been determined.

Clarence Gilyard…

The actor was best known for his roles in Die Hard and Top Gun.

Gilyard made his film debut in 1986’s Top Gun, where he starred alongside Tom Cruise.

He played the role of Sundown.

For Gilyard, landing the role in the movie was a piece of cake considering he came from a military family and was raised on Air Force bases in Hawaii, Texas, and Florida.

However, Gilyard didn’t reprise his role in the 2022 movie Top Gun: Maverick.

But his most notable role was in the 1988 movie Die Hard.

Gilyard played Theo in the movie.

In 2020, he reprised his role when he starred in Advance Auto Parts’ 2020 commercial promoting DieHard car batteries.

The short video showed Theo fighting his long rival, detective John McClane, as they embarked on a perilous mission to get a new battery for his dead car.

But then Gilyard turned his back on Hollywood and decided to teach at a University instead.

He became a film and theatre professor at UNLV College of Fine Arts.

However, the late actor was suffering from a long time of illness.

Though no further details were released.

The university released a statement saying the late actor would be “loved and missed dearly” and they had been “blessed” by his presence.

The school’s film chair Heather Addison paid tribute to Gilyard, saying: “Professor Gilyard was a beacon of light and strength for everyone around him.

“Whenever we asked him how he was, he would cheerfully declare that he was ‘Blessed!’

“But we are truly the ones who were blessed to be his colleagues and students for so many years. We love you and will miss you dearly, Professor G!”

Fans have been left heartbroken by the tragic news.

Johnson found fame with the 70s rock band Dr. Feelgood.

After founding the band Solid Senders in 1977, he went on to join Ian Dury’s The Blockheads in 1980…

And went on to play Illyn Payne, the ruthless, mute executioner of House Lannister in Game Of Thrones.

Back in 2013, Johnson was given a terminal diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

He was told he only had ten months to live after he made the heavy decision not to undergo chemotherapy. 

Despite not undergoing chemotherapy, he defied the odds…

And 2-years later, he was declared cancer-free after surgeons removed a tumor that took eleven hours to extract.

In 2017, Johnson revealed his terminal diagnosis had given him a different outlook on life.

“That year thinking my life was at an end was one of the greatest years of my life,” he said.

“The way I handled it was at all times to understand, ‘Yes, I’m gonna die’ but don’t sit there wishing you aren’t gonna die because we’re all gonna die. I never felt self-pity. I was never in tears all that time.

“Looking out at thousands and thousands of people [at Fuji Rock in Japan] and they all know you’re gonna die… oh man,” Johnson continued.

“I’m gonna die, but it’s alright. What a high.

“It’s hard to know there are people suffering from cancer who don’t survive, and then me,” he added.

His Twitter account revealed the star passed away on Monday in his home.

The heartbreaking tweet read: “This is the announcement we never wanted to make, & we do so with a very heavy heart: Wilko Johnson has died.

“He passed away at home on Monday 21st November. Thank you for respecting the family’s privacy at this very sad time. RIP Wilko Johnson.”

Heartbroken fans shared their tributes to the late star.

Judd was a well-known country singer who performed with her daughter in the band Judds, together the pair won 5 Grammy Awards and even made it into the Country Music Hall of Fame. She died on April 30, aged seventy-six.
