But their story came to an end due to June’s severe illness.

Their son, Sam, who’s seventy-six, told Dayton Daily News (per The Daily Mail) that his mother fell ill the day after Thanksgiving.

She was put on end-of-life care at Hospice of Hamilton in Ohio.

But for Hubert, seeing his wife slowly fade away was too much for him to bare at his grand age, and he ‘broke down’ and was admitted to the same care center too.

“He fell apart, really,” said Sam.

Admitted to the care center, the couple shared a room for 5 days, where they remained unconscious.

On November 30, at 9pm, Hubert sadly passed away in his sleep.

According to his son, his cause of death was a “broken heart.”

Twenty hours after Hubert’s death, June sadly died at around 6pm, on December 1.

“I feel sad, but I shouldn’t. Who can expect to live a life like that?

“They lived a long, happy life together and they were devoted to God and the family.”

And indeed, he was right.

The pair met in 1941 in Kentucky at a church service.

Just 1 year later, they tied the knot and spent the rest of their life together.

What a remarkable life they had.
