A couple has recently melted all of our hearts after pictures from their reunion went viral this week…

Due to COVID restrictions, George and Joyce Bell from the United Kingdom were kept apart from each other.

Both the Bells were admitted into hospital seperately because of their ill health, but due to the safety measures around the establishment, they were forced to stay apart and before you know it, a hundred days had already passed.

However, when they were well enough to be released from hospital, they were taken to Tollesby Hall Care Home.

And just last week, when Joyce was well enough to start moving around again, she was brought to see George, who is eighty nine, downstairs so she could be back with her husband.

Pictures of their heartwarming reunion were posted to the care home’s Facebook page.

Six snapshots were shared with the world and let me just say, it looked extremely emotional.

In one particular snapshot, you can see the pair holding hands, embracing each other with their eyes closed – a moment that had us all reaching for some tissues.

Ever since the pandemic started in early 2020, families have been kept from each other and seeing reunions like this just remind us all how special the bonds in our lives are.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Joyce, who is eighty-seven, said this of their tear-jerking reunion: “I can’t tell you how nice it was. I told him I’d always be there for him, no matter what.

“He held me tight and said he’d never leave me again for the rest of his life.”

After meeting when they were much younger, George and Joyce eventually got married and have been for the past sixty-six years.

When giving advice to a long and happy marriage, Joyce said the best thing is to: “Let them have their own way and put your foot down, you have to with George.”

“I made him make me a promise,” Joyce added. “I told him if he ends up going into a home that I’m not going into one.”

But thankfully, they’re both being treated well and are happy together at Tollesby Hall Care Home.
