A couple took their wedding vows to the next level by signing a wedding agreement that featured only “one pizza a month.”
It all started when a video went viral on the internet, showing a couple signing a wedding contract…
And it wasn’t your usual wedding contract with just a signature strip.
The 24-year-old bride, Shanti Prasad, whose friends describe her as a “pizza fanatic”, married her college boyfriend Mintu Rai…
The couple had a traditional ceremony in Guwahati, the capital of the North-Eastern state of Assam in India.
According to the BBC, the couple met 5 years ago…
After they “bunked” the last commence class to go and eat at a “nearby pizza outlet.”
“I knew I had to take her for pizza because she always talked about pizzas,” recalled Mintu.
After the couple met five years ago, they said their friendship “blossomed into love.”
Bride Shanti said: “I am very fond of pizzas. On dates, I would always say let’s go and eat a pizza.”
However, Mintu confessed that he also likes pizzas but “can’t eat them every day.”
Shanti went on and said that her husband would ask her to eat something else…
“He would always complain to friends, he would say how irritated he was that every time he had to eat a pizza and this had become a matter of jokes among all our friends,” she revealed.
And that’s not all…
The couple’s friend and close classmate, Raghav Thakur, came up with a brilliant suggestion when he found out the duo were getting married…
“Her love for pizza is second only to her love for Mintu. I think she thinks about pizza in her free time and even in sleep,” he said.
Raghav further added that they spent a lot of time with the couple and saw their love blossom…
“Since we met in college in 2017, we’ve spent so much time together and become very close. We have seen their romance bloom and we wanted to do something unique, something memorable for them when they got married,” he said.
And then came up with an exciting plan to accommodate the pizza lover…
“So, we brainstormed in our group and came up with eight points that we thought would work for them. Since she’s a pizza freak, we put it right at the top,” he added.
But what started off as a joke…
Turned into the couple’s reality when Shanti was obliged to sign her marriage contract which said that she could only have pizza “once a month” and “go to the gym” every day.
Shanti’s friends hope she will abide by the conditions…
“She takes it as a joke. She keeps complaining that she’s put on 3-4kg in the past few years, but I don’t think that she’s really serious about cutting down on her pizza consumption,’ added one of her friends.
Shanti revealed, “we’ve already had pizzas twice since the wedding and it’s only been 2 weeks.”
