Shocking footage of a couple guarding their mansion with guns went viral yesterday, and it has left people utterly appalled at the current state of our country. But now the couple have been labelled "Karen and Ken" in a seriously creative flow of memes.
Keep scrolling to see these amazing creations...
Just when you thought you couldn't lose faith in humanity that little bit more...
Even though these original pictures have a sinister meaning behind them, they have now been made into memes... Obviously.Recently this one couple, in particular, has generated a whole new wave of shock and outrage.

Footage has recently gone viral from a protest in St Louis, Missouri, and people are completely horrified.Husband and wife, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, were seen emerging from their mansion as the protest passed by...
via: Twitter
And they were each brandishing and aiming firearms at the crowds.Patricia could be seen clutching onto a handgun...
via: Twitter
While Mark, even more horrifyingly so, was carrying a large assault weapon that resembles an AR-15.The couple paced up and down on the lands of their lavish home in the upscale Central West End neighborhood of the city...
via: Twitter
And repeatedly brandished their weapons and shouting "stand back!" at the protestors, who were marching for the resignation of Mayor Krewson.Krewson has recently stirred up controversy after she publicly identified those who had called for the police to be defunded.

Ever since her blunder, people have been calling for her to resign, and protestors took it upon themselves to march outside of her home in Forest Park. But, evidently, her neighbors felt particularly threatened by the march.

Alternate footage shows Patricia storming towards the protestors in defense, brandishing her gun and seemingly shouting "walk away!"Professional photos highlight the severity of the incident even further.

Can you imagine the chaos if it had been a black couple brandishing those weapons at white protestors?
If this isn't proof of white privilege, I don't know what is.The videos of the couple's shocking retaliation were posted onto Twitter...

And, quite understandably, people are disgusted.
You can watch both videos above.Since the videos went viral, Twitter did its thing and the couple's own law firm was identified.
@averyrisch These folks are in for a rough Monday. https://t.co/LZwN6TZTyw— Diane Schutt (@Diane Schutt)1593402134.0
The couple had not initially spoken out, but now, they have.
Evidently, we have an issue with gun violence in this country, and these videos have only stressed that matter further.Since they're on the receiving end of backlash, they have addressed the issue.

Mark McCloskey told KMOV-TV that a mob rushed toward the home as the family was having dinner outside, claiming that the protesters smashed through the gates on their private street. But a Livestream otherwise proved that the gate was open and fully intact at the time of the incident.
via: YouTube
So no one can fully decipher when the gate was actually damaged. In a different interview he also said this:
via: YouTube
"I really thought it was storming the Bastille, that we would be dead and the house would be burned..." He was referencing a crucial point in 1789 during the French Revolution when a mob stormed a state prison known as the Bastille, which history saw as a symbol of the monarchy's autocratic power over them.He continued:
via: YouTube
"This is all private property. There are no public sidewalks or public streets. We were told that we would be killed, our home burned and our dog killed. We were all alone facing an angry mob." Right, I know this is a lie because no one would threaten a dog. They get more respect than black folk in our backward society."It was about as bad as it could get."
via: YouTube
"It's been both threatening and encouraging as there's been a number of people who have voiced their support but there have also been people who have made very direct threats of violence."He also claimed he was not anti-Black Lives Matter.

In a shocking turn of events, police announced that they will not be charged.

On Monday, police said that people in the crowd yelled threats at the couple and that the McCloskeys would not be charged. But that doesn't mean the internet is going to let them go so easily...
