Their neighbor's called 911 out of pure fear.

Yep, their Halloween display was that convincing, people genuinely believed it was real.

The couple took their Pirates of the Caribbean theme very seriously and, in doing so, created something that's nothing short of a masterpiece.

With people from all over the country marveling at the sheer skill behind their crafty adornment.

Now, we all like to mark the spooky season in different ways...

But most of us tend to go for a similar Halloween tradition.

We've all carved a pumpkin at some point in our lives...

Some a little better than others, might I add.

And we've all put up some form of spooky decoration.

This usually involves a sprinkle of fake cobwebs, skeleton ornaments, jack-o-lantern buntings... you get the gist.

But, of course, there are some Halloween enthusiasts who put all our spooky efforts to shame.

Some people take Halloween a little more seriously than others, and subsequently, end up kitting out their full houses in a ghoulishly fantastic attire.

We all know the sort...

There's always that one neighbor who transforms their front yard into an actual graveyard, isn't there?

But now, one couple has put everyone's Halloween efforts to shame.

Carmen and Travis Long, from California, decided to kit out their Riverside home with a Pirates of the Caribbean theme this year but, in doing so, they garnered a slightly unexpected reaction.

Their Halloween efforts were so realistic...

That their concerned neighbors thought they were real, thus prompting them to call 911.

Footage from their house has since gone viral...

And it's needless to say that people are loving the spooky creativity.

Now, to the naked eye, the Longs' house would appear to be on fire.

But you would be mistaken! Of course, the house isn't actually on fire - the Longs are just really good at sticking to their theme.

Carmen explained that the "fire" is simply a combination of satin cloth, an orange light, a red light, and a fan.

And a good old fashioned smoke machine, of course. "My husband 'stole' the idea from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland," she told Fox 13. "We do it for the public's enjoyment."

But not everybody enjoyed the hyper-realistic display...

And, ultimately, concerned neighbors wound up calling the fire department, who attended the scene to find a very convincing, but very fake fire.

However, the firefighters who responded to the Riverside residence were so impressed with the faux blaze...

That they high-fived Travis and told him “great job," according to Carmen.

Hundreds of people now visit the house every night, KABC reported.

But Carmen and Travis have taken to alerting the authorities when they turn on the fire effect, just to avoid any more false alarms.
