Courteney Cox Doesn’t Remember Being on ‘Friends’

It’s safe to say that Friends is one of the greatest and the most binge-able TV shows of all time.

It’s hard to find someone who hasn’t watched the entire 10 seasons, but believe it or not, Monica herself is one of these people.

Courteney Cox is binge-watching Friends for the first time ever during isolation…because she has no memory of filming, and there’s a heartbreaking reason why.

It’s one of the most-loved series of all time.

Who hasn’t watched Friends?

We like to binge it over and over again.

And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

It’s been around nearly 3 decades.

And it all started back in 1994.

The sitcom revolves around 6 friends in their mid-20s who live in Manhattan, New York City.

Friends is arguably one of the most successful sitcoms of all time.

And it boasts a huge and seemingly ever-lasting fan base.

And anybody in their 20s figuring out their life can totally relate to each and every season.

The cast is iconic.

And over the years, us fans fell completely in love with each unique character.

David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, and Matthew Perry all found that their lives had changed forever after the first season.

Their personalities were so much like people we already know.

We all know a neat-freak like Monica, a science nerd like Ross, a fashionista like Rachel, a hippy-vegetarian like Phoebe, a joker like Chandler, and a foodie like Joey.

Sadly, it had to come to an end…

And since the series finale in 2004, it still remains to be one of the most-watched TV shows of all time.

We grew to become incredibly attached to these characters…

The show truly made us feel like a member of the Friends gang, even when we were conflicted over whether Ross and Rachel really were on a break or not… FYI they totally were on a break.

And we watched through our tears as the gang said their final goodbyes to the apartment we had all grown to know and love for the past decade.

Monica and Chandler were starting a family, Phoebe was newly married, Rachel had a new job in Paris… As with a lot of friendships, the gang had grown apart and were embarking upon their separate journeys.

Oh, and Rachel got off the plane…

Fans rejoiced as Ross and Rachel finally put their differences aside and got back together.

People would love a film or one last season…

We have never found out what happened to the gang. Did Rachel and Ross stay together? Would Monica and Chandler ever get divorced? Did Joey ever make it as a big actor?

A trailer for a Friends movie went viral last year, giving superfans false hope that the sitcom was hitting the box office…

But it wasn’t to be. The trailer was quickly confirmed to be fake and, again, our dreams were shattered.

But hearts didn’t stop breaking there.

Matt Le Blanc left fans heartbroken last year as he rejected calls for the show to return, saying the sitcom simply “wouldn’t be the same” in an interview with the Mail Online. He added, “People want to know what happened to them. But it was about a finite period in a person’s life after college, before you settle down and start a family.”

The show’s co-creator Marta Kauffman, says she constantly gets “nagged” by fans to bring the sitcom back. “Watch the old ones – there is no way we could win that. And there’s no way it would be satisfying and it’ll never happen. We’ll never do it,” she said in an interview with Deadline.

Although, we did get a reunion show, last year.

Courteney Cox was extremely excited.

Speaking with Kevin Nealon on Hiking with Kevin, Courteney explained what the show would involve…

She said, “So the exciting thing is that we’re all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it’s going to be on HBO Max, and I’m so excited.”

“We’re going to have the best time. It’s going to be great. We really haven’t all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had. It’s gonna be fantastic,” she went on to explain.

The reunion was needed for Courteney as it turns out…

Appearing on a live stream with Jimmy Kimmel’s new “Minilogue” series, Courteney and Jimmy started talking about Friends (of course!).

She explained to Jimmy that she was self-isolating the right way…

By binge-watching Friends.

And her reason for doing so was a little heartbreaking.

Because she can’t actually remember what happened.

This revelation came as a huge shock.

Especially when so many fans around the world know the script to Friends by heart.

She explained why.

“I don’t remember even being on the show,” the actress said.

“I have such a bad memory. I remember obviously loving everybody there and having fun, and certain times in my life that I remember I was there for, but I don’t remember episodes.”

So, like many of us, she settled in to watch all 10 seasons.
