“I looked around and asked, ‘Where’s my father?’” recalled David’s sister, Chantelle Beilicki.
She described the ordeal as something out of a movie — but this was her family’s reality.
Norman had no known health issues, leaving relatives convinced grief killed him.
“I think seeing all the family together like that was too much,” Chantelle said.
“David had a heart as big as the ocean,” Chantelle said. “He is so missed.”
Chantelle thanked staff at Rose Funerals for their support during the ordeal.
“They were patient, caring, and went through every emotion with us,” she said.
Staff tried to save Norman even as they were shaken by the events.
Chantelle admitted she spent days in “pure shock,” unable to take in what had happened.
Norman’s legacy unraveled.
Norman was known as a boxing enthusiast who trained others in the sport.
He was described as intensely private but still widely loved across Middlesbrough.
“He was my father, and I idolised him,” Chantelle said.
“My kids are devastated. The whole place just isn’t the same without him,” she added.
