A heroic dad has died saving his daughter’s life by wrapping her in a bear hug during a plane crash, and that’s the last thing she remembered him doing…
Dad, Mike Perdue, saved his daughters life by wrapping her in a bear hug during a plane crash at Welke Airport.
The plane crashed on Michigan’s Beaver Island last Saturday and had 5 passengers on board, as well as 2 dogs, as per WXYZ.
Unfortunately, only one passenger made it out alive, and it was thanks to her dad, Mike Perdue.
Little Laney Perdue remembers something in particular about her last moments with her dad…
And it was that he squeezed her as tight as he could while the plane crash-landed. His hug literally saved her life.
Her Mom, Christina Perdue spoke to ABC News and explained that this is her daughter’s last memory before the crash.
“We are heartbroken with the loss of my husband, a father, brother, son, and friend. He gave the best bear hugs, and I believe he grabbed our daughter and protected her,” Christina said.
“Laney has a long road ahead of her,” the mom explained.
Thankfully, because of her heroic dad, Laney only sustained 5 injuries, all of which are on only one side of her body.
“I believe that it would make sense to me that her injuries were on the 1 side, and the other side was with her dad, that he was holding her,” she continued.
The dad headed out with his daughter, who was going to spend a weekend at a friend’s house while he hunted with family friend Ryan Wojan.
And, Wojan told CNN that: “He cradled her in his arms.
“She doesn’t remember anything, except for her daddy squeezing her so hard.”
Rest in peace, Mike Perdue, Kate Leese, Adam Kendall, and the pilot of the aircraft, who has not yet been named.
Our love goes out to the grieving families during this difficult time.
