Dane Cook and his girlfriend, Kelsi Taylor, began dating in 2017 and now they’re taking their relationship to the next level…
As the pair have announced they’re engaged!
They shared the news on their Instagram pages, with twenty-three-year-old Taylor sharing some sweet snaps of the proposal.
“Fianc茅 has a nice ring to it 馃拲” she captioned the post. “The secret’s out! @danecook and I are engaged.”
She then explained more about the moment, writing: “A couple weeks ago, Dane got on one knee and asked me to be his wife and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect moment,” she added. “I love this man and love spending my life with him. I can’t wait for what’s to come.”
The fifty-year-old comedian also took to Instagram, sharing a video of Taylor and her ring, along with the caption: “She said yes!”
This was swiftly followed by a photo of the pair, which Cook captioned: “Making my fianc茅e @itskelsitaylor laugh is my favorite sound. I love her with all my heart. We鈥檝e made beautiful memories over the last five years. There鈥檚 so much to celebrate as we look forward together. #grateful.”
The happy couple first met back in 2017, at one of Cook’s game nights. Cook previously revealed that they were “friends for a while & soon after fell in like with each and then upgraded to love.”
Obviously there’s a pretty big age gap between the two, and Cook has also addressed this before in an Instagram Q&A back in 2019, writing: “The only thing you have to do is plan that your deaths will be somewhat far apart.”
Cook shared with PEOPLE that he asked her on July 13 at York Beach, Maine, a place that holds special meaning for him, “It’s a place I spent much time in growing up so I have such fond memories there […] It felt like the right place,” he said.
“The second he began to reach for his back pocket, my stomach flipped,” Taylor said of the moment. “I couldn’t have asked for the moment to have been more perfect. All that was going through my brain was, ‘Wait, is this actually happening right now? Is he proposing?'”
