But that’s not the reason everyone’s talking about the relationship…

The couple first went viral when they shared the news of their engagement on their Instagram pages back in August, with twenty-three-year-old Taylor sharing some sweet snaps of the proposal.

“Fiancé has a nice ring to it 💍” she captioned the post. “The secret’s out! @danecook and I are engaged.”

She then explained more about the moment, writing: “A couple weeks ago, Dane got on one knee and asked me to be his wife and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect moment,” she added. “I love this man and love spending my life with him. I can’t wait for what’s to come.”

The fifty-year-old comedian also took to Instagram, sharing a video of Taylor and her ring, along with the caption: “She said yes!”

This was swiftly followed by a photo of the pair, which Cook captioned: “Making my fiancée @itskelsitaylor laugh is my favorite sound. I love her with all my heart. We’ve made beautiful memories over the last five years. There’s so much to celebrate as we look forward together. #grateful.”

The happy couple first met back in 2017, at one of Cook’s game nights.

Cook previously revealed that they were “friends for a while & soon after fell in like with each and then upgraded to love.”

Obviously there’s a pretty big age gap between the two.

Cook has also addressed this before in an Instagram Q&A back in 2019, writing: “The only thing you have to do is plan that your deaths will be somewhat far apart.”

Cook has opened up about the controversial age gap.

“She’s only with him for his money, he wouldn’t be able to pull her if he was a manager at Chuck E Cheese,” one person wrote.

“I was a huge Dane Cook fan for the longest. Still am, of the Vicious Circle era stuff. But that math is reallllllllly close to illegal,” added another.

“You know what let it be. He is going to age and she is going to get bored and want someone more her own age. You never know though. It could be true love and they could be together for the rest of their lives,” a fan disagreed.

But it seems Cook just doesn’t care what people think…

And, in fact, he revealed to E! News that he’s using the subject for material for his new show, Dane Cook: Above It All.

“She saw everything that I was working on for the show,” he claimed.

“And she was like, ‘Keep that in. I think that part will be great.’ There’s even some fun at our own expense.”

“We have a bit of an age difference, so it’s in the show, it’s in the show,” he continued.

“If we can’t laugh at it, then nobody else is allowed.”

“I was just trying some material out on her the other day where I was like, ‘Hey, I think I have maybe my first ‘What it’s like to be married’ joke,'” Cook said.

“So, she got the exclusive. We tried it out and she said, ‘I approve of that. That’s a good one.'”

“I think it’ll change it in the way that I would always hope growing up with a generation of comedy fans.”

“I was a college kid talking to you know, college-age students.”

“And to grow up with a generation of comedy fans.”

“Their kids are now coming to my show.”

“I’m family oriented and to be looking at that with Kelsey and our future and family.”

“It’s like, all feels like the right timing.”

Cook also spoke about the evening of the proposal…

“The evening of the proposal was incredibly beautiful, the weather was perfect, sunset was spectacular, and I was just quite simply very happy,” he said.

“I was asking my best friend, the woman who I’ve shared some of the greatest times of my life with, to marry me so we can start the next chapter our of lives together.

“I was also thinking of how absolutely stunning she looked,” Cook admitted.

And now, the pair have tied the knot.

PEOPLE reported that the couple exchanged vows at a private estate in Oahu, a small island in the Honolulu area, on September 24th.

“It was one of the first trips we ever went on together and we continue to go back often. It’s such an oasis, and we couldn’t be more excited to have spent our wedding week surrounded by the beauty of Oahu,” Cook revealed.

It was a small ceremony of around 20 guests, with Cook saying he “envisioned something that was more along the lines of a gathering of our closest family and friends.”

“Last night I married the girl of my dreams here in Hawaii,” he wrote in a tweet. “The greatest feeling in the world is knowing you’ve got the strongest person you could ever imagine by your side and giving them all of your love in return.”

“The Cooks – 9.23.23,” she wrote on Instagram.
