It looks like the epic drum battle between Nandi Bushell and Dave Grohl has finally come to an end…
Nandi Bushell is a 10-year-old drummer who has recently become an online sensation.
The young star from Ipswich in the UK has taken the world by storm with her covers on social media, spurring her to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in the business.
Nandi has well and truly risen in the ranks.
And see her drumming out to iconic tracks from the likes of Nirvana, Metallica, The Foo Fighters, and The Arctic Monkeys.
Over 700,000, to be precise.
And she’s got quite the fanbase…
Including Foo Fighters alum, Dave Grohl.
“She’s beating the crap out of her drum set, and when she does drum rolls, she screams,” Grohl said, recalling the first time he watched a clip of her performing Nirvana’s “In Bloom” on the drums.
“I was like, oh my God, this kid is a force of nature.”
Which, of course, he eagerly accepted.
And has even seen Dave write a theme song for the ten-year-old to commemorate her talent.
And it looks like Nandi has come out on top following Dave’s concession of defeat.
“There was nothing I could do!” he said during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week.
“I was literally being called out by the school bully — ‘I’ll see you on the playground after school!’ Every time she would put out these videos on her page, I’d be like, oh my God, I’m gonna get my ass kicked again.”
Starting off with round 1, which Nandi won.
Well done, Nandi!
