In fact, even the show’s producer, Shawn Levy, announced that the new season was set to impress.

The team was even more “ambitious” with the script this time around…

“The Duffers and I want to share season 4 with the world as badly as the world wants it,” Levy told The Hollywood Reporter last year.

“Season 4 was built to be by far the most ambitious, cinematic, sprawling, and epic season that we’ve ever done.

“By not just a little — by a lot. So the complexity of Season 4, even before we had the obstacles, hurdles, and challenges of a pandemic, is taking a lot of time because it is super worth the wait.”

And worth the wait it was.

According to a leading tabloid, the final 2 episodes of the volume “feel more like a movie.”

But let’s take a deep dive into the cast, and how they’ve evolved from the start of the 1st season, which premiered back in 2016.

When the stars started out in the show, they were all just entering their teens, matching up pretty well with their characters’ ages. But now, they’re aged 17-20, while still playing fourteen-year-olds.

One Twitter user wrote: “Stranger Things is officially at the point where I cannot tell any of the kid characters’ ages. They all look 16 and/or 26, depending on the shot.”

Another wrote: “These kids in Stranger Things so old they got crows feet now.”

“Yo the Stranger Things kids be looking old lmao,” a third echoed.

Let’s start with Millie Bobby Brown.

Speaking about the characters’ age differences, the cast gave an interview with Today, Matarazzo (Dustin) said: “It’s something we’re always thinking about, but it’s something we work with pretty well I think.

“The characters are at transitional periods in their lives… it’s crazy to see what all of us looked like when we first started.”

Schnapp (Will Byers) added: “I remember in season two they told me you need to lower the pitch of your voice, you have to speak at a different level and stand shorter, I was like, ‘I can’t do that, I’m not like that anymore.'”

The second volume came out on July 1.

And since then, it’s been in the news for some surprising new drama and shocking revelations…

Including, criticism from actress Millie Bobby Brown.

According to HELLO!, the actress criticized the writers for failing to kill off some of the show’s main characters…

In the interview with TheWrap back in May, she said: “It’s way too big. Last night, we couldn’t even take one group picture because there was like 50 of us. I was like, ‘You need to start killing people off.'”

Recognize a familiar face?

In response to a viral TikTok video of the couple, one fan was “mind-blown” after finding out Harbour had married Lilly Allen…

  via Getty Images

“I only found out recently and was mind-blown,” said one surprised fan. While another wrote: “He’s married to Lily Allen?!”

Yes, it’s true! British singer-songwriter Lily Allen married David Harbour in a hush-hush affair back in September 2020…

According to reports, the couple were engaged in the summer of 2020 and then decided to tie the knot in September in dreamy Las Vegas.

Although the actor did not reveal his wife’s name back then, an old interview of the star surfaced online, where he spoke candidly of his relationship…

  via Getty Images

“I was, like, ‘Whoa, this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with’. The relationship I have with them now is really, really special. But, you know, it takes time and effort,” said the actor.

And as shocked as fans were to find out who his wife was, they were even more intrigued by how the pair got together.

It turns out they met on Raya, a dating app solely for celebrities.

And David has opened up in an interview with British GQ sharing the moment he realized Lily was the one for him…

“I was in London alone, doing Black Widow, on this app, going on dates and stuff,” David shared. “I started texting with her, she was in Italy at the time — we got together, went on a date at the Wolseley and it was, you know, she’s fucking unbelievable.”

He continued: “She claims to have fallen in love at first sight with me — I mean, who wouldn’t?” he joked, explaining the moment he fell in love: “I remember the exact moment. It was our third date.”

  via Getty

“I was just in this phase, where I was like, I’m just going to be brutally honest about everything, because why lie?” David continued. “And I told her something about my life, about my beliefs…”

The actor explained that “It would take a really extraordinary person to be accepting of the things that I said. And I remember thinking: ‘Wow, that’s somebody I want to be around.’”

Sadly, he didn’t share what those beliefs were, but he has been open about his political and religious views in the past.

Back in 2021, he described himself as a socialist. “I don’t know that there’s anyone who could disagree with socialist ideology,” he told the Guardian.

“The idea of a kindergarten-type society where we share things is my ideal society; as opposed to this world where we’re hunting and killing and destroying for our own personal hoarding, our own personal greed,” David added.

And when it comes to religion, he revealed he has explored a lot, mainly Catholicism and Buddhism.

And shared with the Pitch that he believed in “All of them.”

But his recent interview with British comedian Rob Brydon, on his podcast, has got everyone talking…

  via Getty

He discussed how his life changed after being cast as Jim Hopper in the hit Netflix series.

He shared that he often gets bombarded when out, “It’s crazy,” he said, adding: “This happened to me at 40, so for a long time I was walking around the streets just being that guy.”

  via Getty

They then got on the subject of age and Brydon mentioned that it was good that he shot to fame when he was older.

“In my estimation, it’s a good thing,” he explained. “Also, you don’t take yourself that seriously, because you realize that, you know, you’re pretty close to death.”

  via Getty

He later described how he felt after being chosen for the huge role…

“I was on a show that was particularly terrible that had one season, and I was waiting for it to get picked up for a second season, which I was hoping and praying [for] because I couldn’t pay my rent,” he said.

The show didn’t get a second season, but just a day later he got the script for Stranger Things and went for it.

However, he was sure he wasn’t going to get the role, and when the director asked him to do another run-through of the script, he told him “Nah, I’m good.”

He continued: “I was like 39, I was like this isn’t happening, I’m not getting the lead in this series anymore. And then they just called and were like ‘you’re our guy’…

“My heart exploded and I was just running down the street… it was an amazing day.”
