Since it first hit screens in May 2019, the internet has been going crazy for dark comedy, Dead to Me.

And now, after that insane season 2 cliffhanger, fans have gotten the news they’ve been waiting for… although, it’s very bittersweet.

Now, the creator and cast have spoken out…Keep scrolling for all the details.

We’re only just recovering from that season 2 finale, and now we’ve been hit with some huge news.

The show, created by Liz Feldman, hit screens all the way back in 2019 (how far away does that feel now?). The dark comedy follows Jen, who has been recently widowed after her husband was killed in a hit-and-run, and Judy, who’s also recently suffered a tragic loss.

Despite their less-than-similar personalities, the pair become friends after meeting at a grief support group. But, though all may seem well, Judy is hiding a shocking secret that could bring their lives crashing down.

After a shocking plot-twist of an ending (*spoiler alert* Judy’s husband gets shot by Jen…now he’s floating in her backyard pool), fans were desperate to find out what happens next.

And many praised it for its unique portrayal of grief as well as it’s stomach-churning twists and turns.

We were relieved to hear that we would be seeing Judy and Jen once more.

It was the perfect lockdown binge-watch, with fans quickly getting their teeth into the ten-episode run.

As you’d expect, once again, matters get very messy very quickly.

We don’t even know where to begin with this one… we’re still recovering.

Although one stood out more than most…

People loved the fact that Judy – one of the main characters – ended up dating a woman, with many saying they felt that the series offered great LGBTQ+ representation.

Once again, the series proved it was on track to remain a firm fan favorite with its deliciously addictive twist and turns.

After all, they can’t just leave us with such a big cliffhanger, right?

And this week, we finally got the news we’d been waiting for.

But there’s a catch to the good news.

Because it’ll be the show’s final ever season. We’re not crying, you’re crying.

“Thrilled to announce @deadtome will be back for one more season! Grateful to keep working with #christinaapplegate, @lindacardellini, @james_marsden, and the amazing writers, cast, and crew. Couldn’t love these incredible, talented people more.”

“I will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women.”

While it’s sad the show is coming to an end, several viewers felt that the show could become stale and overdone if it was to continue past a third stint.

As of yet, we don’t have any confirmed release date. But, in the meantime, if you’re looking for the next binge-worthy find on Netflix, we’ve got you covered. From Russian Doll to Grace and Frankie, we’ve ranked the best shows on Netflix. Scroll on to check it out…
