Star of the iconic reality TV series, Deadliest Catch, Nick McGlashan, has tragically passed away.

Nick, who was a seventh generation fisherman, starred on the show for years.

Deadliest Catch star Nick McGlashan has died.

McGlashan was only 33 at the time of his death.

He starred on the show for seven years.

And fishing was in his blood, being a seventh generation fisherman.

He died in Nashville on Sunday.

McGlashan struggled with an addiction to drink and drugs for years.

Nick was suspended from the show in Season 13.

And attended rehab when it was revealed he was taking meth and heroin, while drinking a half-gallon of vodka every day.

Tributes have been pouring in for Nick.

One fan of the show wrote:
RIP Nick McGlashan. This guy was immense on DeadliestCatch and I send my condolences to Bill, all the crew of the Summer Bay and all the family and friends of Nick. Rip Nick.

The news comes just months after star of the show, Mahlon Reyes passed away.

Mahlon Reyes passed away back in August.

He was just 38.

The deckhand, who worked on two of the shows crab fishing boats, was only 38 at the time of his death.

Reyes worked on the Seabrooke and Cape Caution.

And was an integral part of the team as they went searching for crabs.

He worked in the Bering Sea.

During the Alaskan King Crab and Snow Crab fishing sessions.

Reyes always knew it was dangerous.

But he was willing to take the risk to provide for himself and his family.

And many members of the show have died young.

Captain Phil Harris died during season six.

He had complained about feeling excessively tired before going to fetch pain medication and collapsing.

He was discovered on the floor.

And his two sons rushed to help him as paramedics were called.

Harris insisted the camera crews continued filming.

As he wanted the show to depict the brutal family bonds that are formed on these exceptionally dangerous vessels.

Reyes had no pre-existing health conditions.

And his death came as a huge shock to his family and friends.

And explained that he passed away in his hometown of Whitefish, Montana.

He suffered a heart attack.

But despite surviving the initial attack, he didn't regain consciousness.

Mahlon was placed on life support.

However his family decided to take him off the machine the following day.
