The global pandemic has trigged lockdowns all around the world - meaning we can no longer do the things that we once loved and enjoyed.

Socializing is now a no-go...

And even though people have been catching up with their friends and family via Zoom calls, it just isn't quite the same.

And what is socializing best paired with?

Drinking, of course!

With millions of bars and restaurants now being closed worldwide...

We are having to make do with drinking at home, which doesn't at all compare to sipping on a luxurious cocktail in one of our favorite bars.

Who knows when normality will be resumed and bars will be open to the public again...

And here in America, things don't seem to be getting any better.

It's going to be a long and very boring summer...

But not all hope is lost... you could soon be drinking some delicious cocktails in the sun thanks to an exciting new release.

Who's heard of Disaronno?

Of course, the majority of us cocktail lovers will know what Disoronno is!

But for those who aren't familiar...

Disaronno is an amaretto-tasting liqueur with a characteristic almond taste that is made in Italy. Its recipe hasn't changed since 1525, meaning it is now a true classic on the bar.

As many of us can agree...

It is utterly delicious.

It is a great liqueur for younger drinkers...

It has an ABV (Alcohol by Volume) of 28% so it won't result in a person waking up in a ditch the following morning... which is ideal!

Many enjoy sipping Disoronno on the rocks or mixed with Coca-Cola...

But for something a little bit more adventurous, maybe try a couple of the following cocktail recipes.

The Disaronno Sour...

50 ml of Disaronno. 25 ml of fresh lemon juice. 5 ml of sugar syrup (can be made by mixing sugar and boiling hot water). Egg white / Egg white alternative. Shake all ingredients with ice, pour over crushed ice, and garnish with a lemon wedge.

The Disaronno Fizz...

45 ml of Disaronno. 1 squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Top with soda or sparkling water. Pour Disaronno over ice, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and top up with soda water - then stir and garnish with lemon zest.

The Disarita...

25 ml of Disaronno. 25 ml of Tequila. 15 ml of fresh lime juice. 5 ml of sugar syrup. Pour the ingredients over ice into a shaker and double strain into a margarita glass - then garnish with a lime wedge.

These cocktails are just a few of many that can be made using Disaronno...

But it seems that the people behind Disaronno have more than just cocktails on their minds.

There's a new drink in town...

And it looks incredible.

Introducing...

The Disaronno Velvet edition.

This is Disaronno's first new release in more than 500 years...

And it is very unique. Offering something similar to the famous Irish cream liqueur, Bailey's, the Disaronno Velvet promises the taste of apricot, almond, and vanilla, and can be served either as part of a cream cocktail or on the rocks, for a "true tasting experience that enhances its unique and fresh taste."

The Velvet edition has a lower ABV of 17%...

Making it the perfect drink to sip over the rocks.

Sadly, this exciting new edition is only available in the U.K. right now.

Teasing that there could be more to come from Disaronno if the launch is a success, Neil Jardine, managing director of Disaronno International UK, said: "The unique tasting experience enjoyed over ice means consumers across the UK can enjoy a completely new product, still with the distinctive taste of Disaronno which is loved around the world, even during this enforced period at home."

All we can do is cross our fingers for the arrival of this delicious looking treat here in the States...
