Donald Trump's former personal attorney and 'fixer' of situations delivered a severe warning to Trump's closest family and associates, claiming he may get them thrown in prison.
"I think Donald Trump is going to flip on all of them," he warned, "including his children."
Michael Cohen, former attorney to Donald Trump spoke on MSNBC to disclose that Trump will stop at nothing to ensure blame doesn't fall on him.
It's now getting serious (and a little exciting)...
Earlier this year, The New York Attorney general opened a criminal investigation into the 'Trump Organisation', which involved the entire business empire of Donald Trump and his financial enquiries.
The 'Trump Organisation' has gone through many lengthy legal challenges, in an attempt to shield documents from state investigators in relation to taxes.
However, they have now lost several key battles and have been forced to hand over documents and records relating to Trump's finances.
Seems like Trump was a bit of a liar...Giphy
Michael Cohen admitted to Congress that Donald Trump had inflated his assets in order to secure bank loans, whilst also devaluing them in order to avoid tax filings.
To put it simply: Donald Trump is being investigated for tax fraud.
And Michael Cohen bluntly warned his family and associates that he will blame anyone and everyone in order to save himself. He exasperated that when investigators start raising questions about Trump's tax returns, he's going to blame those closest to him.
"I really believe that Donald Trump cares for only himself, and he realizes that his goose is cooked," Cohen said.
"He's going to say, 'Don Jr. handled that, Ivanka handled that. Melania. Don't take me. Take Melania.' He's going to tell them to take everyone except for himself. That's just the kind of guy he is."
Though Michael Cohen himself isn't an innocent man
Cohen worked for Trump for years until in 2018, he finally began cooperating with investigators.
Cohen paid his dues.
On January 12th 2018, it was reported by The Wall Street Journal, that in October 2016, just before Donald Trump was elected, Michael Cohen had paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 to stop her disclosing an affair she'd had with the business tycoon.
Pleading guilty to helping the President.
In August 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges, including a campaign finance violation for Daniels' payment. He stated under oath that he paid her "in coordination with and at the direction of a candidate for federal office". Cohen was sentenced to three years in federal prison on various charges.
Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison but was released into home confinement last year due to the pandemic.
He finished his interview by saying: "I do have to say that my credibility, I believe, is going to end up getting Donald, Don Jr., Ivanka, Jared, Eric, Weisselberg, his kids, some orange jumpsuits."
