It's been twenty-eight-years since Donald Trump made his infamous appearance in Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, but now, the somewhat less savory story behind his cameo has come to light...
The movie's director, Chris Columbus, recently made some strong claims about Trump's role in the family-favorite Christmas flick...And ultimately alleged that the current president was only given the role because he "bullied his way into the movie."
Donald Trump? Bullying his way into something?I can't say I'm too surprised.
Anyway, Columbus' explosive interview has been quick to go viral...And everyone has been saying the same thing about his allegations.
Now, you should all remember Trump's appearance in the second installment of the Home Alone franchise. The 1992 movie features a scene where Kevin wanders through a lavish New York hotel owned by yours truly, Donald Trump.
At the time, Donald Trump was known best for owning a number of luxury hotels and resorts...Including the swanky Plaza Hotel, where Kevin sought refuge after becoming split up (again) from his family.
Upon entering the hotel, Kevin can be seen looking around in awe...Before stopping a passerby to ask for directions to the lobby.
Well, this passerby just so happens to be the then-business tycoon, Donald Trump. He turns to the camera and directs Kevin "down the hall, to the left."
You can watch the brief cameo here.Though Trump only had one line, it has since become one of the more memorable moments from the movie.
However, new, slightly less savory details have now emerged about his role.As stated earlier, director Chris Columbus spoke to Insider about making the beloved Christmas movie and gave away some unexpected secrets from behind-the-scenes.
Columbus detailed many interesting aspects of filming the movie...Including the fact that the creators "couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage," so they had to shoot inside the real New York hotel.
Filmmakers typically expect to pay a fee when shooting at a specific location...But, apparently, the money alone didn't quite cut it for Trump.
According to Columbus, Trump demanded something else entirely...He wanted a role in the movie and, according to the director, he "bullied" his way into it.
Of course, people are not surprised by this news at all.

Columbus said this:
Columbus was apparently hesitant at the idea of Trump having a role...
"People cheered when Trump showed up on-screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.' But he did bully his way into the movie."
