President Trump has come out with a new coronavirus-related falsehood this week…
During a campaign rally in Arizona on Wednesday, the president made some outrageous claims about the preventative measures the state of California has taken to combat coronavirus.
But sadly, many of us weren’t too surprised.
Trump hasn’t exactly been praised for his handling of the ongoing medical crisis.
Back in January, shortly after the initial outbreak, he was quizzed on his thoughts on the virus, in which he replied:
“It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”
He remained calm, and repeatedly stressed that there was nothing to be too worried about.
And, at one point, even dubbed the virus as being a “fake news media” conspiracy.
President Trump simply wouldn’t budge from his stance on the virus and even went on to compare it to the common flu.
This was perhaps one of his most dangerous and false statements about the virus and caused plenty of outrage amongst both Americans and people all over the world.
As the number of coronavirus cases and deaths grew here in the States, people were growing increasingly more concerned with Trump’s blaze attitude regarding the pandemic.
On March 13th, mere days after he compared the pandemic to the common flu, he finally declared a national emergency.
And insisted that he “felt it was a pandemic long before it was declared a pandemic.”
At a press conference in April, the president discussed potential cures for the virus and went on to bring up the topic of disinfectants.
“I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute,” he said.
“Is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that.”
People were horrified that a man with such power and influence would offer such reckless and potentially deadly advice to his country.
As soon as he made his shocking claim, medical experts began frantically urging people to not inject themselves with chemicals.
If you are unwell, go to a doctor. By no means should you ever pump such harmful and toxic chemicals into your body.
Trump’s stance on the pandemic is faring no better.
Even after catching coronavirus himself, the president remains firmly in the belief that this pandemic is nothing to be feared, with him making public appearances mere days after his diagnosis.
Trump has made yet another outrageous claim about the virus.
Speaking to a mostly maskless crowd, Trump insisted that Californians are not allowed to ever remove their masks… even when they eat.
His exact words were:
“In California, you have a special mask. You cannot under any circumstances take it off. You have to eat through the mask. It’s a very complex mechanism, and they don’t realize those germs, they go through it like nothing. They look at you with that contraption and they say that’s an easy one, I’m going right through with the food.”
