Barack Obama delivered a scathing speech at today’s Florida rally, and it hasn’t taken long for Donald Trump to hit back at the former president.
The former president passionately supported his former vice president’s bid for the presidency, while massively criticizing Trump.
And viewers have been watching open-mouthed as Obama ripped into his successor.
And defied a longstanding norm that presidents don’t criticize their successors.
Until now, Obama had largely refrained from commenting on Trump’s performance.
And he well and truly unleashed on the president.
And with the election just 7 days away, he determinedly drummed up support for Biden.
The president hit back during Obama’s speech, and he didn’t hold back whatsoever.
“Now, I’ve sat in the Oval Office with both of the men who are running for president,” Obama said.
“In case you couldn’t tell, they’re very different people. I didn’t think Donald Trump would embrace my vision or policies but I did hope for the country’s sake he might show some interest in taking the job seriously.”
“But he didn’t. He hasn’t shown any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself and his friends or treating the presidency as anything more than a reality show that can give him the attention that he craves. And he does crave attention.”
Noting how Trump said there’s not much he would change, Obama said: “Not much? You can’t think of anything that you might be doing differently? Like maybe you shouldn’t have gotten on TV & suggested we might inject bleach to cure COVID?”
It hasn’t taken Trump long to have his say.
In which he branded Obama’s appearance as a “fake speech” for Biden, while also addressing his recent tax scandal.
He really didn’t hold back, did he?
