Despite being banned from social media, former President Donald Trump has still managed to be in the headlines…

He’s now saying that he will ‘impeach Biden’ by ‘running’ as 2022 House Leader…

It’s been 6 months since Joe Biden officially won the 2020 Election…

But Donald Trump is still pretty ticked off.

Trump hasn’t handled the defeat too well.

From the moment Biden was confirmed as the winner on November 7th, Trump went on a Twitter rampage – spreading lies about how the election was “stolen” from him and how Biden was nothing but a fraud.

Trump’s behavior online began to escalate to dangerous levels…

And the lies he was spreading to his followers ultimately caused the shocking scenes in Washington on January 6th.

After holding a “Save America” rally just a few miles away from the prestigious Capitol building, Trump encouraged his supporters to “take the election back” and “fight like hell”…

Which lead to thousands of them storming the Capitol and unleashing true havoc.
5 people, including 1 police officer, died on that day including hundreds of others being seriously injured.

People from all around the world were horrified by the violent scenes…

And thousands began calling on Trump to intervene and to tell his followers to back down… which, of course, he refused to do along with refusing to take responsibility for the actions of the rioters.

This resulted in him being removed from Twitter and all other social media platforms for “inciting violence”…

And ever since, Trump has been painfully absent from all forms of social media.

Of course, we all know how much Trump loved running his mouth via social media…

So we can’t imagine how much of a kick in the teeth this must have been for him!

The seventy-four-year-old was clearly in a huge sulk over his social media dismissal…

And when the day of Biden’s inauguration arrived, Trump wasn’t present – making him the first U.S president in decades to not attend the inauguration of his successor.
Not a cool look, Don.

And of course, at any given opportunity, Trump has viciously torn into the president for how “bad” of a job he’s been doing ever since his inauguration…

Including at the Conservative Political Action Conference on February 28th, in which Trump well and truly grilled President Biden and his administration.
“We all knew that the Biden administration was going to be bad but none of us even imagined how just how bad they would be and how far left they would go,” he told the cheering crowd.

So, it’s safe to say that in the world of U.S politics…

It’s been an exhausting year so far.

And while Trump has been boasting about his plans to run for president in 2024…

It seems he’s been taking a little down-time doing the thing he loves the most… and that’s playing golf, of course!

The former president was recently spotted playing a few rounds at his very own private golf club in New Jersey – the Trump National Golf Club…

And miraculously, one of Trump’s huge golfing blunders was caught on camera by none other than TMZ.

However, the most recent news involves him continuing on in the world of politics…

He has said that a run for Speaker of the House in 2022 would be ‘very interesting’.

The idea was pitched by a far-right radio host.

Wayne Allyn Root suggested the idea to become House Speaker as a means of launching an impeachment investigation against the current POTUS, Joe Biden.

Root said: “Why not, instead of waiting for 2024, and I’m hoping you’ll run in 2024, but why not run in 2022 for the United States Congress?”

“A House seat in Florida. Win big. Lead us to a dramatic landslide victory. Take the House by 50 seats.”
“Then you become the Speaker of the House, lead the impeachment of Biden and start criminal investigations against Biden. You’ll wipe him out for this last two years and then you’ll be president… Do it! Do it! You’ll be a folk hero to conservatives.”

Trump, though not as excited as Root, seemed keen at the idea…

The 74-year-old said: “That’s so interesting. You know that’s very interesting, that’s so interesting.
“People have said, ‘Run for the Senate, OK, run for the senate,’ but you know what? Your idea might be better.
“It’s very interesting.”

How likely is this to happen though?

Is this a route that Trump can legally take to get a position in the White House?

The short answer is… yes.

Trump would have to firstly run for Congress, then get elected to be House Speaker from a collection of candidates from different parties. He can’t ‘run’ for House Speaker. But it is a long-winded way of him taking back some control in the White House.

Despite being the only President to be impeached twice, he can still run in 2024.

Trump could have been barred from running for any federal office, including President if he had been convicted in one of his two impeachment trials. He was acquitted in both on the basis of his support among Republican Senators. A conviction for a state or federal crime offers no such burden, therefore he is free to run in 2024.

Well, why is he interested in this role, then?

According to the History, Art and Archives of The US House of Representatives: “The Speaker of the House is by law second in line to succeed the President, after the Vice President, and 25th Amendment makes the Speaker a part of the process announcing presidential disability.”

Nancy Pelosi is currently the 52nd Speaker of the House of Representatives.

She made history in 2007 when she was elected the first woman to serve as Speaker of the House.
