Donald Trump Has Already Started Work on Setting Up His Own Social Media Site

But now, his Senior Advisor has made the rumors of a Trump-branded social media platform a reality.

It could possibly be the most Donald Trump move ever, couldn't it?

Now, for many people, Trump's social media suspension was a long-time coming.

Following his 2020 election loss, Trump had been using his various platforms to passionately dispute the result and fuel his election fraud theories with gusto.

Many of his claims regarding this supposed election fraud had to be flagged by the platforms he was using...

But, otherwise, he was allowed to continue in his protesting.

However, following the events of January 6th, efforts to silence the scorned former president were doubled down.

A day on from the devastating riots at Capitol Hill, in which hundreds of pro-Trump supporters stormed the prestigious building, Facebook's vice president, Nick Clegg, announced that Trump's account would be suspended indefinitely.

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, said at the time that "the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service... are simply too great."

"We believe our decision was necessary and right," Clegg said in a statement. "Given its significance, we think it is important for the board to review it and reach an independent judgment on whether it should be upheld."

Twitter quickly followed suit.

Trump was initially locked out of his Twitter account for twelve hours after he called the people who stormed the US Capitol "patriots."

Twitter warned then that it would ban Trump "permanently" if he breached the platform's rules again.

But, after being allowed back on the site, Trump posted 2 tweets that the company cited as the final straws. In one, he wrote:

"The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape, or form!!!"

In the second, he informed his followers that he would be breaking tradition by not attending Joe Biden's inauguration ceremony.

Twitter said this tweet "is being interpreted as further indication that President Trump does not plan to facilitate an 'orderly transition'".

Following this news, a number of other social media platforms quickly announced their own bans for Trump...

Including Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Twitch, and Reddit.

For the first time in twelve years, Trump found himself without any online platform to vent and rant onto.

It's been a peaceful month without any inflammatory, caps-locked Tweets, to say the least.​

Many have been enjoying Trump's online absence...

And have found scrolling through Twitter without a whiff of his constant rants quite refreshing.

However, others have slammed Trump's wide-spread ban as a "disgrace"...

Social Media platforms are a disgrace. The censorship they're implementing is setting a worrying precedent.

Banning Talk Radio from YouTube, suspending Trump on here. The left claim to be liberal but they despise free speech & expression and are trying to silence the opposition.

And have insisted that his censorship is a breach of his freedom of speech.

But, as the debate rages on, Trump has revealed his plans to make an online comeback...

Because, clearly, one month offline is more than enough.

Last week, he gave his first post-presidency interview on Newsmax, his new favorite media outlet...

And, in doing so, made various claims about the impact his absence has had on the platforms.

Taking main aim at Twitter, Trump said:

"I'll tell you it's not the same when you look at what's going on with Twitter, I understand it's become very boring, and millions of people are leaving."

"They are leaving it because it's not the same. And I can understand that."

Whatever helps you sleep at night, Don.

But, without wasting any time, he moved on to discuss the future he has on social media.

The interviewer asked whether he would want to move to Parler, the "free speech" social media app, to which Trump explained he was keen but cautious that the app "mechanically can't handle" the amount of traffic that would happen if he joined.

So, the solution?

Well, he'd like to create his own social media platform, of course.

The former president toyed with the idea in the interview, explaining that a Trump-branded social-media platform to reach the millions of Republican voters with whom he is still extremely popular definitely isn't out of the question.

"There is also the other option of building your own site because we have more people than anybody. You can literally build your own site."

Of course, many people merely scoffed at this idea.

Surely, a Trump-branded social media app will never happen?

Well, it seems the wheels are already in motion for Trump's platform.

His Senior Advisor, Jason Miller, has this week told Sky News Australia that the former leader has already got to work in making his social media dream a reality.

Miller explained:

"I think there's a very good chance [sic] President Trump could set up his own social media platform - in which case regardless of what the platform is, it's going to be the biggest once he joins it."

Miller has all the confidence that the platform will be a roaring success.

"Folk want to hear what he has to say. Everyone wants to know what he's doing."

He also revealed that "there have already been a number of meetings about both joining existing social media platforms and potentially setting up brand new social media platforms."
