Donald Trump Says US Generals More Focused on Being ‘Woke’ Than ‘Fighting Enemies’

Donald Trump has claimed that U.S military generals are more focused on being “woke” than they are about “fighting their enemies.”

The former president made the claims in front of thousands of people while attending his first post-White House rally in Ohio.

Trump accused the U.S generals of being “focused more on this nonsense than they are on our enemies” as he criticized their study of the critical race theory.

“I said to one of the generals, who was a good general – he wasn’t a woke general. Do you notice the woke generals we have? This was a real general,” Trump said to the crowd.

“Our generals and our admirals are now focused more on this nonsense than they are on our enemies,” Trump added later in his speech. “Do you see these generals lately on television? They are woke. Our military will be incapable of fighting and taking orders. We need a Republican Congress to ban critical race theory.”

“The military brass has become weak and ineffective leaders. And our enemies are watching and they’re laughing.”

His comments come after General Mark Milley defended the study of critical race theory in the military.

The critical race theory is an academic field that is looking to understand systemic racial prejudice and combat it.

“On the issue of critical race theory, a lot of us have to get much smarter on whatever the theory is,” Milley said as per the Independent.

“I do think it’s important, actually, for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read. I want to understand white rage, and I’m white, and I want to understand it. What is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the constitution of the United States of America, what caused that? I want to find that out.

“I want to maintain an open mind here. And I do want to understand that,” Milley added, “It’s important that leaders now and in the future do understand it.”

Trump also used the event as an opportunity to talk about President Biden’s immigration policies and once again, his 2024 presidential run.
